NASA’s Amazing Moon Crash: Not as theatrical as people would believe

In case you haven’t heard, we have bombed the moon. Yeah, I know, the moon didn’t do anything to us, but we just had to do it, didn’t we?

Actually, there is a reason why we rammed the Lunar CRater Observing and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) at the moon at 5,600 mph. We wanted to get that plume of dust that is miles high!

Seriously, the whole purpose is to see whether there was water below. If there is, then there actually might be a good reason to go to the moon again.

After all, you can’t have a good moonbase without indoor plumbing, right? That, and water is like a primary organic building block. I’m not certain whether it proves that there is life on the moon, but I think we rules that out a long time ago.

If there are aliens living underneath the moon craters, then they are going to be really Ticked off. Better prepare for retaliation.

I can just see a moonman hurling something to earth, Deep Impact style. Then saying something like: “Let’s see how you like it!”

I’ve heard that NASA hopes to have better video footage, because the fireworks didn’t look very impressive. Then again, it’s science. You can’t expect every experiment to be flashy as the ones performed on Bill Nye the Science Guy.
