Tech News of the Day, Friday, November 20, 2009

I’ll start with some news from Qualcomm. Not only are they making a color e-book reader (for real), but they are making it so you can attach a game controller on it.

Check out this R/C helicopter from Syma. It’s got some serious control for indoor use.

This is an interesting device for the bed sheet that allows you to tell the time, just by touch.

Some of you might be interested to know that the Samsung Omnia II will be available from Verizon for about $200.

The First Multitouch Laptop, the Studio 17, will launch soon from Dell.

Check out the awesome Alien that plugs into your USB. It has that second mouth that pops out randomly and is as scary as the first movie.

Oh man, there’s a lot of Twilight hype going on with the New Moon movie being released today. Anyone want the Twilight USB drive?

NTT Docomo is soon to be releasing the Sharp SH-04B which will have a candybar look to it. Check it out here to see exactly what it is.

Bunk Bed Couch

500x_sofabed_crime

Yeah, I couldn’t help but cover this particular one. It is a sofa that can unfold into a bed. Yeah, that’s nothing new. This one transforms into a…bunk bed! Sweet! When was the last time that you saw that one.

The War between Verizon and AT&T

Oh, man, like the Rebel Alliance and the Empire from Star Wars is this new “ad war” between Verizon and AT&T. It started when Verizon with their Blockade Runner battleship dared to undermine the AT&T Death Star (think of their logo) by finding a weakness. Yes, AT&T’s 3G network has been called spotty, with wide open gaps in the United States.

The Empire struck back when they tempted Luke (that’s Wilson, not Skywalker) to do this pro AT&T ad. Luke mentions all the pros of AT&T versus Verizon, and surprise, AT&T excelled in 4 out of 5 categories. The last category was the network that begins with V.

You can view the two videos after the jump, and I’ll be certain to post the next battle/commercial when it appears on YouTube.

By the way, what is the point of the X not sticking to the “Name that starts with the letter V”. Are you trying to say that Verizon is not good at starting with the letter V? Last time I checked, it still does.
