Adidas Star Wars Shoes

500x_adidas-skywalker-g13297-1-600x399Clearly, Adidas has now become an acronym for “All day I Dream about StarWars”. Granted, I had to make Star Wars one word in order for that to work, and I won’t tell you the original version of that acronym (because you probably already know it).

For some reason, and let’s just say that it’s money, Adidas went and made themselves some Star Wars shoes. They come in four designs that include X-wing pilot (see above in lovely orange), gray Tie Fighter, white X-wing, and a weird color for Princess Leia.

Get them wherever shoes are sold, and be prepared to give George Lucas his cut.

Morphius Case Mod

morphius_computerI’m not certain what possessed this modder named Maciel to do this robotic case for his computer, but let’s just say that it was something good.

Granted, what would you think if you came into a friend’s home and saw the Morphius, this evil robot looking thing? Hopefully, you wouldn’t do the Christian thing and try and cast it out. Instead, compliment the person who made it, as its body was hand-carved in clay for a silicone mold. That had to have been a lot of work. Then ask for the specs on it.

I don’t think that because its name is Morphius that this is some homage to The Matrix. It looks more like a robotic version of Spawn to me.

You gotta love this Concept PC

philco_pc-clean-no-logoThis is an interesting concept PC that clearly heralds back to an era when TVs looked like this.

Even the keyboard and its base look like something from the fifties. Is that a dial that I see on the right? I am guessing that the button on the left is for power.

Of course, this comes from Yanko Design, which is usually good at creating concept devices that usually don’t end up seeing the light of day.

Norway spiral explained

500x_nxj4dxs67uck7b1_qdtzawozvmqqffj2fesicsuwdhmw

The Internet was ablaze with this picture that you see above. It is a spiral pattern that appeared in Norwegian skies a few nights ago. Oddly enough, about the same time Obama was visiting Sweeden to get his Nobel Peace Prize. It has been pretty much confirmed that the cause of the spiral was a failed Bulava missile that was launched from a nuclear submarine in the White Sea. It’s nice to know that it isn’t aliens, or some happening plucked from the book of Revelations.

Still, the idea of a missile that somehow got loose should scare us more, right? You can watch a video that simulates the spiral after the jump.

Olympus PEN E-P2 shows up on Amazon, out of nowhere

e-p2

I have been hearing a lot about the Olympus PEN EP-2, and it is sort of odd that it has just appeared on Amazon. This is a 12.3 Megapixel camera with interchangeable lens, with a lot of other cool features as well. It does cost a pretty penny at $1,099.99, so you know this is a professional quality camera.

Nokia 6700 comes in gold

091209-n6700gold-01I honestly don’t know who the target audience is for this golden Nokia 6700 Classic Gold Edition is, but I’m guessing it is the rich. And by rich, I’m not talking Paris Hilton or Donald Trump rich, but Richie Rich or Scrooge McDuck rich.

Well, I’m assuming that this phone can do everything that the 6700, only it comes with “special wallpaper”. I don’t know what that is, but it has a limited edition 18-carat finish.

So is this a phone, jewelry, or both? Well, it should be out come 2010 for about $550.

You know, something like this makes you think. We are obviously not feeding the planet, we are apparently in some sort of economic recession, and yet this golden cell phones can be made. A sign of the times, but I’m not certain what times they are.

Dragon Diction from Nuance Communications, Inc.

facebook03b-280x138Nuance Communications Inc. has recently unveiled a new voice to text or diction that is available for iPhone users.

All that is required of the user is to speak a message in the phone, and then hit send. I haven’t tried it for myself, but generally, applications like this don’t work as simple as companies would like you to think.

Still, if it makes Twitter and Facebook updates easier, I say, let it fly. In the meantime, you should be able to pick up the Dragon Diction for free, for now.

Got a problem with AT&T? Talk to the app.

500x_attmarkthespot

Considering that Verizon is taking pot shots at AT&T for their spotty coverage, there is a free app available for iPhone users that addresses this issue. Essentially, if you encounter a dropped call, coverage gap, or other network problem, then you can contact “611″ to attempt to resolve the issue.

Of course, you have to be able to make a phone call where you are, right? Yeah, I’m thinking that this is just a way for AT&T to counter that claim by Verizon. Let’s hope they listen.

Twoddler prepares infants for Twitter

twoddler12042009-1259955227

Some people at Belgium’s Hasselt University has designed the Twoddler, it is one of those activity boards with the spinning dials, bells, and whatnot that links to the baby’s Twitter account.

That’s right, so when the baby hits something, it sends an automatic message. Now, can a baby communicate this way? Perhaps if they see a photo of a parent, and hit the photo, maybe.

Does this show that a baby is missing us? I don’t know, honestly. I’m not certain you should try and get a baby to tweet. I mean, what is next, turning a rattler into a mobile phone? How about Facebook on the activity board.

You won’t be able to get this now, but it should be available in early 2010 from FastMac. Makes you wonder what is next as far as updates for the home.
