Irreverent Reverence, Day 5: Ham Really got a Crummy Deal

Have you heard the story of Ham, Noah’s son? Then you probably know what he is best known for, and it is not his acting.

Check him out in the readings today at Genesis 9-10 and Matthew 4, then read up here.

Irreverent Reverence, Day 4: Only Time will Tell

Sometimes you have to wonder if you are making a difference in life. We could really use a “big picture” view.

Read about Noah and John the Baptist in today’s reading, Genesis 7-8 and Matthew 3 here.

Irreverent Reverence, Day 3: The Blood was Red, the Pain was Real

I think we all know that the depictions of the nativity and crucifixions, nice as they are, are probably a little bit too nice.

Go ahead and read Genesis 5-6 and Matthew 2, and read more here.

Irreverent Reverence Day 1: Introduction and Imagination

It would appear that I am not doing a good job of keeping my New Year’s Resolution that I talked about on my last posting. I’m going to make up for it here.

For starters, I’m going to post the Irreverent Reverence Devotional that I have been promising. Remember, this is not your father’s devotional! In fact, it isn’t your mother’s. It is mine, and it might contain some things in it that might baffle (or even possibly offend) some Christian people.

Anyway, you can read the first day here. You should probably do the Bible reading of Genesis 1-2 and Proverbs 1 first.
