The other day, I was doing a little house project of hanging Christmas lights, and I was attempting to screw a…screw into my porch. Unfortunately, I could only get the screw to go so far before it just locked up on me. I was using the Black and Decker SMARTECH 20V MAX Lithium Drill/Driver for that job. At the risk of sounding like Tim Allen, I needed something with more power (grunt grunt grunt) which is why I will recommend the Porter Cable 20V MAX 1/2 Inch Brushless Lithium Cordless Drill Driver (PCCK607LB).
Just to let you know, Porter Cable’s parent company is Stanley Black and Decker. The 20V Max 1/2-inch Brushless Lithium Cordless Drill enabled me to screw in that screw that I mentioned before, and I believe it is the lack of brush that does it. Yeah, I don’t know what the lack of brush had to do with anything. Clearly, I am not a power tools man.
From what I can tell, the brushless motor provides 50 percent more runtime. The motor itself has a 370 MWO of power duty with a transmission with 1,800 MAX RPM. I’m not certain how much work you can get out of a single charge, because honestly, I’m not going sit there and just press the trigger for even a few long minutes.
You should be able to purchase the Porter Cable 20V MAX 1/2 Inch Brushless Lithium Cordless Drill Driver (PCCK607LB), you can get it places like Amazon for about $149.99. The price includes two 20 V Lithium batteries, a charger, and the drill driver itself. It is quite a good holiday gift if you have someone who is really into power tools and such.
