Otterbox Defender, Pursuit, and Symmetry for the iPhone XR and Google Pixel 3

It looks like we are going to have another fun time with another Otterbox review. Yes, we did do one last week for identical cases of the Symmetry and Defender for certain iPhones and even Samsung Galaxy models, but it is time to focus on the Pixel 3 and the iPhone XR. I’m sure that you know that I’m going to give these guys a positive review, as they are number one in the nation as far as cases go, and these are by far no exception.

Otterbox Defender Series for the Google Pixel 3

Unlike the related Lifeproof products, the Defender Series for Google’s latest flagship seems to pride itself in a screenless design. It does have that multi-layer, drop-proof protection going on, of course. Oh, it also covers the ports really well from dirt, dust, and lint.

As for the feel of the Defender, it feels rubber and smooth to the touch, on the outside. It has a weird and stiff area around the camera lens that you can see in the image. The inside seems to be set up with a cushion for the back of the Pixel 3.

I have to admit that I expected the Defender for the Google Pixel 3 to be higher than its $49.95 price on the Otterbox site. It even comes with a belt buckle holder.

Otterbox Pursuit for the iPhone XR

I’ve never really certain why Otterbox names its products what it does, but perhaps the Otterbox Pursuit Series for the iPhone XR is so named because it is made for the pursuit of…something. This Pursuit Series is said to be the thinnest, toughest, and most protective iPhone XR case.

It certainly feels that way as it seems to lack the soft rubbery feel of the Defender. Even the inside feels completely hard, and I am guessing that it is made for some superior shock absorbing power, I guess.

In short, the Pursuit allows for protection with its “thermoplastic elastomer”, which is probably another phrase meaning “gives protection without adding too much volume”. It can be purchased on the Otterbox site for $79.95.

Otterbox Symmetry for the Google Pixel 3

It’s hard to believe the the Symmetry isn’t as skinny as the Pursuit, but apparently, it isn’t. It has the ease of installation with makes it work, and I can’t imagine why it is called the Symmetry.

This particular case feels softer than the pursuit, possibly because it is made from synthetic rubber. Not only does it give protection from drops, but it has a raised edge to protect the screen.

The Symmetry for the Google Pixel 3 is available on the Otterbox site for $39.95.

Otterbox Symmetry for the iPhone XR

I found that the Symmetry cases for the iPhone XR seem to come in a lot of varieties, and I will talk about the Clear and the ones that come in myriad colors and styles. Both of them have that drop protection as well as its ultra-slimness.

I suppose that the difference between the clear and the colorful ones is how smooth the back is. They do have that raised edge in order to protect the screen, and they are made of that synthetic rubber and polycarbonate.

The Otterbox Symmetry for the iPhone XR is quite a beautiful thing to wrap up our omni-review, and it can be purchased on the Otterbox site for $49.95 right here for the clear and here for the colorful.

I’m not certain if we are through reviewing Otterbox products for this holiday season, but I’m sure we’ll see a plethora of what they have to offer at CES 2018.

Lovehandle Gives you a Handle on Your Phone

LoveHandle is a company out of Texas that gives its customers a stylish way to keep a grip on their phones. LoveHandle has been around for a while, but this is the first that we’ve heard of it. So here’s our review of this product.

The 2.5″ x 1″ dimensions on the LoveHandle grip for phones make it a great size for slipping into pockets. Those round products that are out on the market for gripping phones seem to be all the rage these days, but this one will give you the ability to securely hold your phone and be able to carry other things in your hand as well. With many colors and styles to choose from, you can make LoveHandle your own.

Installing/Removing LoveHandle

Installation is easy. Once you clean your phone backing, simply figure out where you want the grip to be. The 3M adhesive has removable backing, and it’s easy to remove and stick on. When you want to remove it, dental floss, a credit card, or blunt knife can lift it off. Any remaining residue will easily roll off as you rub your fingers over it.

Other Aspects of LoveHandle

LoveHandle also comes in larger sizes for tablets. You can customize them with your own designs as well. Businesses looking for swag to give out can personalize them and get a discount on bulk orders.

You can also get this phone mount to slide your LoveHandle on for placing on your dashboard, wall, or wherever you want to mount your device.

This old commercial for LoveHandle is a must-watch

The prices for the LoveHandles vary with size and pattern, but you can check out your options on the LoveHandle website. There’s a lot to choose from- anything from floral to camo, and more!

Thanks to LoveHandle for sending us some product to review. All opinions on our site our solely our own, and are not influenced from any companies who send us products.

The Presidio Grip Case and Toast Wood Cover Review

I’m doing a review tonight that is a combo of different companies. One is a case, and one is a skin. Yeah, kind of a weird mash-up, but this is what I’m going with. They both have to do with phones, so here you go:

Presidio Grip

This case, available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 for $44.95  protects your phone while preventing slips. It has a rubberized surface with texture for easy grip. This case is drop tested up to 10 feet.

It comes in many different colors, and is actually available for many different types of phones. For the Galaxy Note 9, it comes in this Microchip Grey/Ballpoint Blue, Black/Black, Charcoal Grey/Graphite Grey, Eclipse Blue/Carbon Black, and Black/Dark Poppy Red. Check it out for your Note 9 and more on the Speck site.

The Toast Wood Cover

This product is different than most phone accessories we have reviewed.  It’s not quite a protective case, but it’s a little more durable than a skin. This adhesive product basically sticks to your phone, buttons and camera- giving it a real wood texture that can be customized.

We’ve reviewed this product in the past for different iPhones, and even the Surface Pro. Fans of the past Toast skins will like that you can now get one for the iPhone X / XS / XR / and XS Max.

The cases start at $34.00, but you can add little customized things for slightly more. There are different wood combos you can choose for the cover and buttons. The colors come in Walnut, Ash, and Ebony. The thing that I like about the cover is that it has that nice wood smell.

If you want to see all the styles you can add to this beautiful skin, check the Toast site out.

Both of these products were sent to us free of charge in exchange for our unbiased and honest reviews. No other compensation was given.

Zagg Flex Universal Keyboard and InvisibleShield Review

It’s been nearly a year since we’ve had any Zagg products to review, but we were able to get some just in time for Christmas. First we’ll review the Zagg Flex Universal Keyboard. Then we’ll talk about a couple InvisibleShield products.

Zagg Flex Universal Keyboard

If you have a lot to type while you’re on the go, you’ll want to look at this keyboard that works with your phone or tablet. With a detachable stand that flexes in different positions, you have something to prop up your device to make it work just like a laptop.

Some cool features of the Flex Keyboard include keys that can be backlit in seven different colors. It can be paired with two different devices, so you can toggle back and forth from using your phone and tablet, or even smart TV. Seriously, it’s nice to be able to surf the internet on the TV with a real keyboard and not just a remote control.

The keyboard is 9 inches in length, which makes it compact, but still easy to type on. The battery is long- lasting as well. You can go up to a year without charging it if you only use it for an hour a day and don’t use the back lights on the keys.

The keyboard costs $79.99 and comes with free shipping from the Zagg site for new US orders.

Check out this video to see it in action:

Zagg Invisible Shield + Anti-glare

For $44.99, you can protect the screen on your iPhones XR, X/Xs, and Xs Max. Along with the protection for the screen, you can avoid annoying glares on your screen.

The screen is easy to apply. It comes with the EZ Apply Tray, instructions, a microfiber cloth, cleaning wipe, and a dust removal sticker.

Here’s a video that shows you exactly how:

Zagg InvisibleShield Glass+ VisionGuard

Also for $49.99, you can get the option to protect your vision with the technology to screen from harmful blue light that causes eye strain. This shield uses Eyesafe® technology. This technology also preserves the true colors of your screen.

This protective screen is available for the same iPhones as the Anti-Glare, and also available for the Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL.

Both screens come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty- good for as long as you own your phone.

Thanks to Zagg for providing these products for us to review at no charge in exchange for our honest and unbiased analysis.

Lifeproof Slam and NËXT Cases Provide Protection for Your Phone

Here are some more phone case reviews coming your way. This time, we’re reviewing a couple of LifeProof cases for some phones. We’ve reviewed the LifeProof Slam in the past for the Samsung Galaxy S9. This time we have the Slam case for the iPhone 7 and 8 to review. We’ll also review the LifeProof NËXT for iPhone X and above and Samsung Note 9.

LifeProof Slam

This case that LifeProof sent us for the iPhone 7/8 is one of LifeProof’s slim cases. The back is clear, and the bumper comes in different colors such as Night Flash (green/black), Aloha Sunset (pink/teal), Lava Chaser (red/gray), and Free Flow (purple/pink). This case is built to withstand drops from 2 meters.

The buttons on the side of the case may be a bit difficult to manipulate at first, but with some time it gets better. The front of the phone is open is not encased in this particular product, but you can get the Alpha Glass if you want the additional protection. This case costs $49.99.

LifeProof NËXT

The NËXT is a case in between the SLAM and the FRE. It is drop-proof, dirt-proof and snow-proof. This case is also built to withstand drops from up to 2 meters, but it has port covers to keep out dirt and such.

There are raised edges to protect the front of your phone, should you put it face down, but the screen is also open as with the SLAM. The Alpha Glass is also compatible if you want extra protection.

The back is also clear- allowing you to showcase your phone. The edges give it a nice pop of color, though. You can find these cases in colors like Black Crystal, Ultra (light purple), Zipline (green), Cactus Rose (pink), and Clear Lake (the blue, as shown above).

We were sent this case to review for the iPhones X, Xs, Xs Max, and Samsung Galaxy Note 9, but they are available for other devices as well. The price of these cases is $79.99.

So, if you want to protect those new devices you get for Christmas, we can recommend LifeProof. This is my unbiased review, but thanks to LifeProof for sending us these free cases.

Under Armor Gear (UAG) Review: Monarch and Pathfinder for iPhone XS and iPhone XR

Once again, we have got our hands on Under Armor Gear (UAG) products, and they do make some of the greatest cases in the universe. I honestly don’t know if this is an accurate thing to say.

UAG Monarch Case for the iPhone XS Max

Once again, the Monarch Case has one of those five-layers of protection. You can see that it has that typical UAG look that always reminds me of a complex belt buckle.

This particular Monarch has a metal alloy and leather, and it even has this odd kind of hexagonal pattern that feels like…I don’t know, rubber? I am told it is called a honeycomb traction grip.

It’s completely set-up for drop protection approved by the Military. What is really cool is that it is set-up for the wireless charging, which is odd, considering all the layers of protection.

This sound good for you, you can get the Monarch case for the iPhone XS Max on the UAG site for $59.95.

UAG Pathfinder Case for the iPhone XS Max

I’m sure that you can see the difference between the Pathfinder and the Monarch, as the black leather areas are kind of sanded over. Yeah, I wasn’t certain how to describe that, but then again, I never really know how to describe the shape of UAG cases.

While I couldn’t confirm the 5 layers of protection, the Pathfinder sure looks tough, and it is much lighter too. I am guessing it is made for the hikers, and is it just me, or does the color of Carmine that you see in the photo seem perfect for hiking?

Well, it is good for the military protection and the wireless charging, and the UAG Pathfinder case for the iPhone XS Max is available on the UAG site for $39.95.

UAG Pathfinder SE Case for the iPhone XR Max

Okay, I was glad to review the Pathfinder SE for the iPhone XR, because I have been wanting to review stuff for the iPhone XR for a while. Besides the size, this Pathfinder SE case for the XR isn’t that much different from the Pathfinder for the iPhone XS Max. You can see that the Pathfinder SE has some camo pattern, and that seems to be one big difference.

Anything else I can say about this would be a cut and paste, and I see no reason to do that. I guess that I will just say what I forgot to say and that it is feather-light and has some scratch resistant pads.

For some reason, the UAG Pathfinder SE for the iPhone XR is more expensive than the Pathfinder regular, as it is available on the UAG site for $49.95.

A Numerous Amount of ITSKINS Cases to Review

ITSKINS is a company based in China, but run by a French man. We’ve reviewed some of their great phone cases in the not so distant past. They just sent us a lot more to review. Some of these cases are repeats from before, but available for the new iPhones.
Buckle up. Here we go.

Nano Ice

All photos courtesy of ItSkins

These cases are slim and rigid. A basic case that has a clear back with trim in colors of black, light green, light blue, pink and purple. This is available for only the newer iPhone models as far as I can tell. Raised beveled edges will protect the front of your phone if placed on its face. $19.99 USD will pay for this case that is drop tested up to 1 meter.

SpectrumFolio

Moving on up to the 2Meter drop protected cases, the SpectrumFolio offers drop protection, but also has RFID protection, which is meant to protect your credit cards that fit in the inside pockets of this case. The corners have airpocket technology to absorb and disperse shock. There’s also the honeycomb design on the inside that is known for absorbing shock as well. This case is available for $29.99 for the new iPhones, but also for some older ones and Samsung Galaxy phones, too. Many different colors to fit your style- you can check them out here.

HybridFolio

Almost exactly the same as the case above, but this folio is made of real leather. Offered in black, black with red stitching, blue, white, or brown for $39.99, it offers the same protection as the above.

HybridMKII

This case looks similar to the NanoIce, but it offers a dual layer protection up to a 2Meter drop. It has the same air cushion technology that their other cases offer at this level. The design is a crystal clear back with edges in red, green, pink, purple, black or clear. $25.99 will buy this protective case for your new iPhones and also the Galaxy Note 9.

HybridGlass

In colors of black, sliver, rose pink, gold, and white mat, this case is backed with a 9H tempered glass panel. This is the first ever made Drop Certified cover of its kind. There’s a specialized blend of the HEXO-TEK technology for beauty and strength. A built-in magnet makes this case compatible with all ITSKINS magnetic mounting system. This design is also thin enough for wireless charging, and yet is anti-shock up to 2 Meters.

HybridEdge

This case with a transparent cover, has soft, black bumpers, and a metallic-feeling frame. You can interchange different colors to make it fit your personality. The colors offered are rose gold, gold, black piano, silver, black matte, and space gray. For $29.99, this case can be bought to fit many iPhones and even Samsung Galaxy phones 6 and higher.

Itskins Spectrum

The Spectrum is another case that looks basic, but offers the level 2 drop protection. The translucent case is offered in colors of clear, black, purple, pink and light blue. $19.99 will buy this for new iPhones, and also for other phones that I’ve never heard about before. You can check to see if your phone is covered here.

And finally, we have the

SUPREME FROST

This is an extreme impact case that has been drop tested up to 3 Meters! It has 4 layers of protection to give it great high impact absorption. The back of the case is frosted, and the sides are also available in different colors. Red, blue, baby pink, grey… just some of the colors available for the newest iPhones at $34.99.

We hope this gave you some ideas for new cases for Christmas. Thanks to ITSKINS for sending us these cases to review. Our analysis is our own, and not influenced by any monetary compensation.

Our Review of the ANGLR Bullseye Fishing Tracker

We’re not really anglers, but we know people who are. If you like to fish, or know someone who does, this would be a good item for a Christmas stocking stuffer. This review is for the ANGLR Bullseye Fishing Tracker.

This little button doesn’t look like much, but this tiny little button comes with a clip that attaches to a lanyard, keychain, or other item. One click of the button will record catches with weather, water, and location details. Two clicks drops waypoints. All this information is helpful to anglers to keep track of vital data.

How does it work? An app that is free to install pairs your phone to this little button, and helps you track your fishing trip while building up your own personal data base of things like best days to fish, time of day, barometric pressure, lure colors, etc. You can share these things with other people if you desire, or keep your fishing secrets to yourself.

The button also has an adhesive backing in case you want to stick it to your hat or boat. There is nothing to charge. One button has a battery life of 2 years. The battery is not replaceable.

Here’s a video that explains it more:

This handy device is available for $29.99. You can buy packs of two or three as well, and save more. Get them as gifts for your fishing buddies, or have a spare in case you lose one.

Thanks to ANGLR for sending us this product for free to review. No other compensation was given in exchange for our fair and unbiased analysis.

N-Range by SureCall Improves Cell Signal on the Road

It’s happened to all of us, or maybe most of us. Has it happened to you? Do you get dropped calls while out driving in the middle of nowhere? This product that I’m about to review will help with that issue. Last year we reviewed a similar product. Today, we are reviewing the N-Range by SureCall.

What is N-Range?

This device by SureCall attaches to the roof of your vehicle via a magnet (or you could use the adhesive attachment option). Your signal is boosted to the nearest cell tower, so you can have a broader range. This is the most powerful cell phone signal booster available.

Installing N-Range

Installation is simple, and can be completed in 3 steps. The fin part sticks on top of the vehicle roof via magnet. The magnetic phone holder is connected to the fin by a cord. Once your phone is placed on the phone mount, you plug the 12v power adapter into your vehicle’s power port. It’s now ready to boost your signal. It’s so easy, you can transfer it to other vehicles as well.

Buying N-Range

We think this product that works for all cell phone carriers in the U.S. (and other countries as well), will be beneficial to those wanting more coverage on the road. If this is you, the N-Range can be purchased for $199.99 at Amazon.com, and also at other places like Best Buy.

Surecall sent us this product for free to review in exchange for our fair and honest analysis. No other compensation was given.

Otterbox Protection for Devices: Symmetry, Pursuit, Defender, and Alpha Glass

With new iPhones coming out and the recently released Galaxy Note 9, consumers are looking to protect their investments. Otterbox has been a trusted company by many to provide this protection. We got the privilege of receiving some of their cases and a screen protector to review.

Otterbox Symmetry Series

all photos credit:Otterbox

The Symmetry series provides cases in many colors and designs- too numerous to list them all. This particular case is called “Gradient Energy.”

All of the Symmetry cases offer Otterbox Certified Drop Protection. They’re easy to put on and take off. The cases are ultra-slim, so you can wirelessly charge and use Apple Pay.

Symmetry cases vary in price greatly, so we’ll just tell you the prices of the cases we received to review. The iPhone XS Max case in Gradient Energy is $54.95. The same case for the Samsung Galaxy Note S9 is also $54.95. There is not quite as many styles and colors for the Note S9, though.

Otterbox Pursuit Series

The Pursuit case is said to be ultimate protection. In addition to the sturdiness of the case, it also offers an ultra-thin design. It protects from dust, mud, dirt and snow. Good to take skiing or backpacking. This case offers enhanced audio and the ability to access the screen directly. There are port covers to keep unwanted materials out, but still provide access when needed.

This case also comes in various colors- including this clear one with the black edges. We received an all black one. There are other colors, too. $79.95 will purchase this case for the iPhone XS Max. Check out the website for more colors and device options.

Otterbox Defender Series

This case that we received for the iPhone X/Xs is the screenless edition. The multi-layer case offers great drop protection, and protects from dust as well. It comes with a holster that attaches to your belt with a clip. Otterbox Defender has been around for a long time. We even reviewed it back in 2012 on the iPhone 5! It still has the great reliability and standard you can trust. Different colors and cases for different devices will bring different prices, but for this particular case- $49.95.

Otterbox Alpha Glass Screen Protector

Otterbox screen protectors are cut precisely for their cases. If you get an Otterbox cases, you will probably want to get the screen protectors made to go with them. The Otterbox website offers a discount when the screen protector is purchased with many of their cases.

The protector is reactive to touch and fortified to protect from splintering and shattering. Most important is that the screen below doesn’t get damaged. The Alpha Glass protector for the Samsung Galaxy Note9 is $44.95. It wraps nicely around the edges to get that edge protected. It comes with edges for the top and bottom of the note 9, and some cleaners. Glass protectors really need to be placed carefully.

This wraps up our review of Otterbox products. Thanks to Otterbox for sending us these to review free of charge with no other compensation in exchange for our honest and unbiased review.
