A Numerous Amount of ITSKINS Cases to Review

ITSKINS is a company based in China, but run by a French man. We’ve reviewed some of their great phone cases in the not so distant past. They just sent us a lot more to review. Some of these cases are repeats from before, but available for the new iPhones.
Buckle up. Here we go.

Nano Ice

All photos courtesy of ItSkins

These cases are slim and rigid. A basic case that has a clear back with trim in colors of black, light green, light blue, pink and purple. This is available for only the newer iPhone models as far as I can tell. Raised beveled edges will protect the front of your phone if placed on its face. $19.99 USD will pay for this case that is drop tested up to 1 meter.

SpectrumFolio

Moving on up to the 2Meter drop protected cases, the SpectrumFolio offers drop protection, but also has RFID protection, which is meant to protect your credit cards that fit in the inside pockets of this case. The corners have airpocket technology to absorb and disperse shock. There’s also the honeycomb design on the inside that is known for absorbing shock as well. This case is available for $29.99 for the new iPhones, but also for some older ones and Samsung Galaxy phones, too. Many different colors to fit your style- you can check them out here.

HybridFolio

Almost exactly the same as the case above, but this folio is made of real leather. Offered in black, black with red stitching, blue, white, or brown for $39.99, it offers the same protection as the above.

HybridMKII

This case looks similar to the NanoIce, but it offers a dual layer protection up to a 2Meter drop. It has the same air cushion technology that their other cases offer at this level. The design is a crystal clear back with edges in red, green, pink, purple, black or clear. $25.99 will buy this protective case for your new iPhones and also the Galaxy Note 9.

HybridGlass

In colors of black, sliver, rose pink, gold, and white mat, this case is backed with a 9H tempered glass panel. This is the first ever made Drop Certified cover of its kind. There’s a specialized blend of the HEXO-TEK technology for beauty and strength. A built-in magnet makes this case compatible with all ITSKINS magnetic mounting system. This design is also thin enough for wireless charging, and yet is anti-shock up to 2 Meters.

HybridEdge

This case with a transparent cover, has soft, black bumpers, and a metallic-feeling frame. You can interchange different colors to make it fit your personality. The colors offered are rose gold, gold, black piano, silver, black matte, and space gray. For $29.99, this case can be bought to fit many iPhones and even Samsung Galaxy phones 6 and higher.

Itskins Spectrum

The Spectrum is another case that looks basic, but offers the level 2 drop protection. The translucent case is offered in colors of clear, black, purple, pink and light blue. $19.99 will buy this for new iPhones, and also for other phones that I’ve never heard about before. You can check to see if your phone is covered here.

And finally, we have the

SUPREME FROST

This is an extreme impact case that has been drop tested up to 3 Meters! It has 4 layers of protection to give it great high impact absorption. The back of the case is frosted, and the sides are also available in different colors. Red, blue, baby pink, grey… just some of the colors available for the newest iPhones at $34.99.

We hope this gave you some ideas for new cases for Christmas. Thanks to ITSKINS for sending us these cases to review. Our analysis is our own, and not influenced by any monetary compensation.

New Urban Armor Gear (UAG) Cases for the new iPhones: Trooper and Metropolis

If you’re one of the people who is looking forward to buying a new iPhone XR or Xs Max, there are already cases for you! Urban Armor Gear(UAG) is one of the companies who have rolled out their cell phone cases to protect your valuable phone. Today, we’re looking at two of those cases.

The first case is

The Urban Armor Gear Trooper Series Case

These rugged, but classic looking cases will surround your phone to a lip on your screen with a poly-carbonate shell backing. The back opens to reveal a recess that holds up to 4 credit cards.

The inside backing is rubbery and springy- built with the hexagonal pattern you’ll find in many UAG cases. The back is tough to open initially, but should get easier after a while.

There is the usual drop test standard to MIL- 810G-516.6. We have reviewed this series for other phones before as well, but for the iPhone X/XS and XR this black case costs $39.95. The case for the XS Max costs $44.95.

The UAG Metropolis Series Case

The Metropolis case is another fabulous case by UAG. This one provides 360 degree protection by wrapping completely around your phone. The inside of the cover has a soft, felt material that lines and protects the screen of your phone. It also holds credit cards in pockets.

The outside of the case has a leathery feel, but is water resistant. There are raised ridges on the back. The strap closure is held in place by a magnet. Your ports and buttons remain easy to access. The thinness of the case allows you to wirelessly charge your phone, or access Apple Pay.

The cases for iPhones X and above come in black, blue and red. They’re available for $39.95 on the UAG site.

Both of the cases in these collections are covered by a one year warranty, and have free shipping.
Thanks to UAG for sending us these cases free of charge in exchange for our fair and unbiased review. No other compensation was given.

Phone Cases from Tech21 to protect your iPhone X and Galaxy S9

It’s been a while since we’ve reviewed products from Tech21, but they are a good company if you are looking for some cases and protection for your phones. They have sent us some more cases to consider and tell you about. So get ready for our assessment of four different Tech21 cases.

Tech21 EVO LUXE

This classy looking case looks like leather, but it’s really “Vegan Leather,” or what seems to be some PVC material. It kind of has a leather smell, but I don’t know if that’s chemicals I am smelling. The drop protection on this black case is made of 3 layers with ribs on surrounding the sides of the case on the inside. This design with FlexShock is said to protect your phone from 12 ft. drops. The lip wraps around the front so you can place the phone face down and have protection. The part that covers the buttons on the sides are not very prominent, and might be a little tougher to maneuver than other cases I have seen.

If this ultra-slim, 1.8mm thick case that works well for wireless charging appeals to you, you can find it for $49.95 on their website. We were sent the case for Samsung Galaxy S9, but it’s also available for iPhone 8 and up.

Tech21 EVO WALLET

This case is good for those looking for something to totally envelop their phone. It contains the same FlexShock drop protection from 12 ft. This one, though, has a leather- like front (maybe this one is actually leather) that wraps around your phone. There is a clasp to close it on the side. It seems a little difficult to open and close the clasp. That may get easier with time. I can see it becoming problematic if you want to access your phone in a hurry, but there are cutouts and buttons so that you can answer calls with the cover still on. The tactile buttons on the left side, again, are not very prominent.

A cool feature is the ability to carry a couple of credit cards in a concealed compartment in the front of the phone. The case comes in pink or black, and they have different textures. I can’t tell what the texture of the black case is, but it definitely has a different texture from what I see. We received the pink case. This one for the Galaxy S9 is $49.95. It is the same price for iPhones, and from reviews I have seen on those, there is a way to take the Folio cover off and just use the basic case. I don’t see that on the case for the Samsung Galaxy S9, though.

Tech21 PureClear

If you want a clear case for your phone, this could be the one for you. It has a 10 ft. drop protection of two layers- the ribs like the cases above, and BulletShield material, which is used in bulletproof glass. It’s thin(1.2mm), and can be charged wirelessly. It also says that the case resists UV damage for longer and therefore won’t yellow. The button covers on this case seem much better to me than the others.

This case, also available for other phones has a cost of $39.95 on the Tech 21 website.

Tech21 EVO Check Evoke Edition

Finally, the last case we are about to review is a beautiful way to protect your phone. In this case, we received the iPhone X cover in clear and blue. It also comes in pink, with red flowers.

This case also has the FlexShock impact protection, and has a promised protection of 10 ft. drops. Again, a thin, light-weight design for easy access to wireless charging. The back of the case has a texture with checks, and the floral design that really stands out. This design costs $49.95, and this Evoke edition only seems to come for the iPhone 7 and up, but the Evo Check is available for other phones as well.

That concludes our review of these phone cases. Our usual disclaimer- these cases were sent to us for free to review in exchange for our fair and unbiased analysis. No other compensation has been given.

Two UAG Cases to Protect Your Galaxy S9- Monarch and Plasma

Urban Armor Gear (UAG) is a popular and reliable brand for phone cases. We’ve done many reviews for them in the past, and are pleased to review two cases that we’ve reviewed before, but are now available for the new Samsung Galaxy S9 phone. These cases are in the Monarch and Plasma series.

UAG Monarch

We recently reviewed the Monarch case for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. This one we were sent has pretty much the same design, but of course, it is made to fit the S9, and there’s also one for the S9+.

What I’ve noted about this case is the announcement of the top grain leather on the box. The leather part of the case really does feel nice to the touch, and looks to be of great quality.

The other features of the case to be noted are pretty much the same as the other cases in the series. It has the sturdy UAG quality with a drop test rating two times military standard. It has the traction tire- like grip on the side. With a 5 layer protection, the case is very rugged, but also light weight. It does add a bit of bulk to your phone, but that’s the cost of protection.

The case does fit around the edges of the phone so you can lay the phone on its face without worrying about scratching. Easy access to your buttons, good cut-outs for the ports on the bottom, and cut right on the back so you don’t get the glare from the flash.

This case runs at $59.95, and comes with a 10 year warranty, so you know there’s a good value. We were sent the black case, but it also comes in red for a sleek contrast as well.

UAG Plasma

As with the Monarch, we’ve also reviewed several cases from the Plasma series.

The Plasma series seems to cover just about everything from phones of many different brands like LG, Huawei, iPhone, and Samsung, and also Surface laptops. So, it’s natural that they would come out with a case for the newest Samsung Galaxy phones.

Coming in an array of colors like Cobalt (pictured), Citron (a yellowish green), Ash (black), and Ice (clear), these cases offer a three layer protection. There are shock cushions in the corners, and the case has been drop tested to military standard, also.

UAG does a superior job in making lightweight, but sturdy cases, and this one is no exception. It is not as rugged as the Monarch, but offers many of the same features. It’s also a bit less expensive at a price of $39.95.

We can safely say that both cases could be recommended by us, and will take this moment to say thanks to UAG for sending us these cases for free in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

Review of Phone Cases from Man&Wood

A company in Korea called Man&Wood sent us some lovely phone cases to review, so we’ll cover the four different ones we received today. We’ll also throw in a review of the iKins case we received in the same package- also Korean made.

The first one is called MilkyWay, and we received one for the Galaxy S8.

The Man & Wood cases are all made out of wood, or maybe it’s wood products. This one has a smooth, epoxy surface with the Milky Way galaxy on it. It seems pretty flexible and a bit rubbery to be made out of wood. The jury is out on this one. There are some ridges on the side for a good grip. The case covers the buttons on the Samsung Galaxy S8, but even though they don’t protrude as much as buttons like we’ve seen on other cases, you can still easily manipulate them.

The next case we are reviewing is one for the iPhone X. This case definitely includes real wood- it actually has the feel and smell of wood. It also has a sketch of my favorite bridge on it.

This one, called the Strato, also has the feel and smell of wood. I should add that these cases have a poly-carbonate lining. The tops and bottoms of these iPhone cases are open, they do not encase the phone all around. It makes the phone easy to access in the case, but some users might want something that surrounds their phone. There is no drop-proof claim to any of these cases, but they are nice if you want to protect the back of your phone while being stylish at the same time.

Our final case, which is branded by iKins, is named Pearl Skin Mondria, and this one was for the iPhone 8/7. The iKins are carried by the Man&Wood company, and their cases are made out of various materials like metal, fabric, pearl and leather. I would say this one is a pearl material. It has a sleek geometric design that is also luminescent.

Man&Wood has a website with these cases and many more, but at this time, we can’t find prices for the cases, so we can’t give those details out yet. We’ll update when we find out more.

We do not have a sponsored relationship with this company, but thanks to Man&Wood for sending us these cases for free to review. This review is our honest and unbiased assessment.

Urban Armor Gear case reviews- Plyo Series and Monarch Series

Today we’ll review a couple of cases from the popular brand of Urban Armor Gear.

The first case is from the Plyo Series. We were sent one for the Galaxy Note 8, but this series is also available for iPhone X, 8, 7, and 6s Plus. The case looks a lot simpler than most UAG cases we’ve reviewed. They are translucent, and come in Crimson(red), Ice(clear) and Ash(grey) colors for the Samsung Note 8, and an added Glacier(blue) for iPhones.

The cases are sturdy like other UAG cases and meet military drop-test standards like others. They also have soft, cushion anti-shock corners to help protect from phone drops.

And good news for those who use Apple Pay and wireless charging- the cases are compatible for these activities.

These cases retail for $39.95 and come with a one year warranty.

Now, on to the Monarch series. These cases give me the UAG design vibe. The classic armor frame with the UAG name on the back, and the alloy metal screws holding things together in the four corners. It’s very rugged looking- reminds me of a truck tire.

Notable about the Monarch is the five layer protection, and that it has been drop tested to 2 times military standards- which is saying a lot.

These cases are available in just the black case for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, but adds a red color for the Galaxy Note 8, and even more colors for iPhone- the most colors for iPhone X. You can get a better idea of all the colors on their website here.

All this protection will run you higher in cost than most cases at $59.95 USD, but there is a 10 year warranty, which is a good long time to protect your phone.
