There are times when you are reviewing products that you have to say: “it feels like there is a lot of inspiration and imagination in this product, but is the tech here yet”? Such is the case of the AirSelfie, a product that we have not reviewed not just once, not just twice, but this is the third version. At that point, I wondered if the product had left the market.

Welcome to AIR NEO, the new version of AirSelfie, and it is designed to take selfies in the air. Yeah, you don’t really need to know any more than that to know if you need it or not.

It does this using drone technology, something that has really grown up in the past decade or so. I’m told that it is the weight of a golf ball, and it certainly feels super light in the palm of one’s hand, and you can see the four propellers that give it the lift.

I have to admit, I’ve had issues with AirSelfie in the past. I had one that veered off and got caught in my daughter’s hair. Then the propeller slipped off, and it didn’t really come back on.

With this one, there were a few times that it veered off, which I’m going to chalk up to user error. I also found that I got issues when I grabbed it wrong, and it didn’t cut me.

Just to let you know, in order to make this work, you will need to connect it to your WiFi network. That is a big part of making it work, honestly. I had issues getting it to hook up, but it is related to battery life.

Once you do that, you need to pick a way to fly. It can do Autofly and then it will take some pics. After that, it will land in your hand. Then there is also Orbit, which takes a video around you. Then there is the manual, which can be done in two ways.

Of course, this is one of those products that will be better off if you looked at the video, but I will admit that I had issues with the video. You can see the selfies that I took with it thanks to the included 16 GB SD Card.

Okay, I need to talk about the issues that I have had with the AirSelfie Neo. While we were filming the video, we got a few flights out of it, and then we tried to power it up again. Long story short, we couldn’t get it to work again, but I’m sure that I got at least 10 good flights out of it.

As I have said in the video, the biggest obstacle for the AirSelfie Neo being a quality product is the battery life. I suppose it is just smart for AirSelfie to make a battery pack specifically designed to charge the AirSelfie products.

The AirSelfie Universal Powerbank is made to be pocket-sized, and it is a 5,000 mAh Li-Po battery. As I show in the video, you can charge pretty much anything, but I’m not certain how much power it will actually give you. I am told it will give you 6+ minutes of flight time per charge, and 36+ minutes total with powerbank.

If you need more stats, here’s the output performance. It can go zero power to flight ready in 15 minutes, and the Air Neo with zero power to fully charged in 35 minutes.

You can’t see here, but it has dual input and output slots, and these on the top are dual USB types. Then there is a USB-C there.

If you want to get in on this AirSelfie PowerBank, you can get it on the AirSelfie site for about $24.95. That is pretty cheap for this product, as I have seen mobile batteries of this type go for twice this price. Oh, by the way, I noticed that the price on this was once $49.95.
