If you know me, then you probably can guess why I did this article. If you think it has anything to do with this SSFW (Somewhat Safe For Work) video, then you don’t know me.
Yeah, I will warn you that I find this video slightly suggestive. Maybe it is because these girls are wearing T-Shirts that are marked in certain areas, I don’t know. It also uses the augmented reality in a somewhat suggestive way. That, or maybe my mind is out of whack, again, I don’t know.
If you aren’t familiar with augmented reality, it is essentially a way of seeing new images with a smartphone on a stable image. I have seen it on all kinds of interesting methods, and it just really stands to reason that you would put it on a T-Shirt. After all, what better medium to put a stable image on than a T-Shirt?
Dentsu’s Asoberu-T augmented reality T-Shirts have some interesting modes thanks to their app, like Play Shot, and Share. Play allows “playing” with the T-shirt, which allows the user to put his or her finger on the T-Shirt in question, and yes, I am still saying that this is suggestive. Then there is the Shot, for posing with the augmented reality effects for a photo. Then there is the Share, to upload photos to a special website.
So are we looking at an augmented reality T-shirt fad? I don’t know. I also don’t know if this is still suggestive, leave a comment if you agree or disagree with me.
