I think we all know that the things in our home are just going to get more technologized. Spell-check didn’t recognize that as a real word, but think about all the things in our house that can be improved with a smartphone app.
I’ve heard about the Nest, a way of controlling your themostat from your smartphone, and I have seen others like it. I suppose that big dial on the wall just had to be replaced, didn’t it?
So why shouldn’t that lock and key mechanism on your front door be replaced with something like a smart-lock. With the Goji smart lock, it is made to open when your smartphone comes within range of it. This way you don’t have to fiddle in your pocket to get your keys. By the way, non-smartphone owners can get a key-fob.
Also, if you have guests coming over, you don’t have to make them a new cold metal key. All that is required is texting them their key code, and you can even set a time limit for the key to work.
In addition to this level of security, you get more as the Goji smart lock sends a picture of whoever is at the door right to your smartphone.
This is an Indigogo project, and I am beginning to think that all of the coolest stuff is crowdfunded these days. You can see more about it after the jump with a video.
