You can see the video that a company called Sky Go that wants to advertise on subway windows using bone conduction. If you haven’t heard of bone conduction, it is a way of listening to sound outside of traditional headphones. It works by sending out high-frequency oscillations transmitted into your brain, and interprets them as sound.

Have you ever leaned on a window of a bus or subway to rest? It isn’t really the best if the glass vibrates, but with a Sky Go module is attached to the glass, you can hear a whole lot of things.

Now, in the video, you can see these people are shocked when the glass is talking to them. They seem to learn quickly that pressing the head to the glass starts the audio message. I am very glad that they didn’t take it too seriously, as if this were to happen to me, I would think that I am crazy, maybe. It would depend on the message, I suppose.

Yes, the application of Sky Go would make a pretty bad ambush TV show. By the way, the video is slightly mistaken when it says that bone conduction is only used for the hearing impaired and the military. This is not true, as a company known as Aftershokz has made several headphones with bone conduction.
