Audio-Technica QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling In-Ear Headphones

November 15, 2013 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

ath_anc33is_3_sqToday is headphone day, because we are going to be reviewing not one, not two, but three different pairs of headphones. We’ll start with Audio-Technica, a brand that I love, and the last time I reviewed something was the Solid Bass Headphones. This one is the QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling In-Ear Headphones, or ATH-ANC33iS.

They are called QuietPoint because they have the ability to cancel out 90 percent of distracting background noise. As someone who is working from home, I can testify to that. Right now, my kids are doing their usual evening activities before bedtime things, and I can barely hear them.

The noise cancellation might have something to do with their shape, and they really pad the empty space of the ear. According to the official site, it creates “a noise-cancelling wave that is 180° out of phase with the ambient noise”. This acts like a “noise eraser”, which is again a quote from the site.

In addition to the noise-cancellation feature, the QuietPoint also has an interesting inline microphone and controller that can help for answering calls for smartphones and other devices. The microphone is omnidirectional, so it should be able to pick you up.

All in all, they are quite good, and so I’m going to recommend them, especially as a good gift for the holiday season. You can get them on the Audio-Technica site for about $79.95.
