I have reported on Ballistic cases before, most recently, the Hydra for the iPhone 5. It should come as no surprise that the company has made a Hydra case for the Galaxy S4.

In fact, this was pretty much all that Ballistic seemed to be showing off at CES 2014. I found this a complete surprise, considering that the history of the company would reveal a whole line-up of cases. This is what Otterbox and Speck had, after all.

Speaking of those two companies, Ballistic did come forward and explain how they out perform both Otterbox and Speck in drop tests. Again, I consider this odd, but the entire company seems to be rebranding itself. I think all the packaging is different, and it is a pretty bold move.

I don’t have any information on when the Hydra for the GS4 will be available. This is a real shame, as I like to report on stuff like that. For now, I’ll just advise that you keep an eye on Ballistic in the future.
