Personally, I like animation, and I like how it takes less time to make it than drawing everything frame by frame. There is now an app known as Nito (pronounced like, you guessed it, “Neato”) and allows you to make an animated face on your face.
It works in a very interesting fashion. What happens is you use the front-facing camera on the iPhone or iPad, and you put your face in a template. The app then figures out where your eyes, nose, and mouth are, and you can create a character that will blink, talk, and follow your eyes.
Granted, you can only use this for quick 15-second long videos, but it is doing what it is meant to do: send quick video messages. The CEO of this tech has stated that this tech is not meant to replace decent animators like Pixar and the like. Still, it is pretty decent to have, and this is available for free on the iTunes store, coming soon for Android.
