The one thing that I have been looking forward to since last year is the Geonaute camera, which I first saw at CES in 2013 (yes, last year) and still haven’t seen available for anything but pre-launch. The Geonaute has what I thought was a unique ability to shoot in 360 degrees, but it looks like VSN Mobil is going to get in on what will probably be a growing market with the V.360.
The V.360 is made for those who don’t want to miss any angle of the action, and it can withstand shock, vibration, and even some time underwater. I don’t have any specs for the underwater, and I am not certain how the 360 will “read” the videos or images that you take. For the most part, I’ve seen 360 footage that the user was able to pan along with their finger on a touchscreen. I’m going to assume that the V.360 has this kind of technology.
It looks like the V.360 camera can sync up via Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi, and it is made for mounting on a traditional camera mount as well as a GoPro mount. It has 1080p video and 16 Megapixel imager, and includes a build-in GPS, barometer, accelerometer, and altimeter.
I don’t have a price as yet, so I can’t give you that just now. I am told that it will be available in October.
