I have to admit that I have only have seen one episode of Falling Skies. I think it is a TNT show about some post-apocalyptic world that has been overrun by aliens. I’ve heard that Steven Spielberg produces it, and I can’t help but compare it to The Walking Dead. After all, it is about the remaining humans after a catastrophe.
I have to admit that I wasn’t overly impressed by the pilot episode, but many of my favorite shows had very unimpressive beginnings. I suppose a concept like this just has to be a game because, as I’ve said before on this blog, things that are so popular just have to leave their medium. The efforts are not necessarily successful.
Falling Skies, the game, is one of those turn-based games. In it, you command an army of rebels who have certain missions that have to be done stealthily. These types of games take a lot of patience, and for me, there is a huge learning curve. I had a hard time getting into it, but I know that there are a lot of turn-based fans who will eat this up. There is certain enough to do in this game, and there is enough aliens to frag.
Falling Skies is available on Steam as well as platforms like the PS3 and Xbox. You can find out more information about it here. This week, I’m going to probably review a lot of new games on Steam that I don’t normally play.
