Generally, if I see a product that has a number in its name, I assume that there is another version of it. I was right in this case, and I discovered a GIGA Portable Mini USB Rechargeable Waterproof DC Pump on Amazon for about $31.99. I was fortunate enough to receive the GIGA Pump 2, and I don’t think it has hit the market as yet.
You see that picture of the GIGA Pump on the air mattress? Yeah, it just inflated that big thing, and it is so, so small. It is so small that it will fit in your pocket. I am told that the flow rate of the GIGA Pump 2 (or 2.0) will reach 180L/min and can be 3.5KPa. It’s good enough for inflating an inflatable in minutes, and it comes with lots of tips for the job.
It is also a vacuum pump, so if you want to use it with a vacuum bag to store your clothes, or something, you can do that. Apparently, this thing can blow and suck. I just realized that as I was writing this, the video I made says that it “doesn’t suck”. However, it apparently does. I think you realize that when I say that it doesn’t suck, I mean to say that it doesn’t blow. Dang this slang! I’m going to rephrase and say that it will blow and suck, and I think I have described this product effectively enough so you know what I mean.
So yes, it has two uses, but that is not all! Seriously, this 2.0 version of the GIGA Pump has an ultra bright lantern. Yes, it is quite a flashlight, and it has three settings of 40 Lumens, 160 Lumens, and 400 Lumens.
It is rechargeable via USB-C (a step up from the micro USB charging of the last model), and I am not certain how long the blowing or sucking time a full charge will give. I do know that you can get 10 hours on bright, 2.5 hours on brighter, and 1 hour on brightest.
Yes, this is a very handy device, and I will say that the only problem that I had was sometimes the blowing/sucking wouldn’t work on the first push of the button. You will have to hold the button down to get the lantern functions working, but the point is, it works, and works well.
It looks like the only place that you can purchase the GIGA Pump 2 is on the Indiegogo site, and I can’t really give a good price. I would say that it is worth whatever price.
