Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)

It’s time for us to review another really cool Atomi Scooter! This time it is the Atomi E20, and last time it was the Alpha.

Of course, I did a video of it that you can see below, and I pretty much followed the same format as the last time. I mean, it is a big box, and its nearly impossible for me to get it in the frame with my typical DIY method of filming.

For some reason, I found this one a lot easier to assemble. And, once assembled, it was time to take it on the road. Yes, I got video footage of that, and my experience tells me this: the E20 feels faster.

I say feels because you can see in the video how my wife is filming me use the scooter for the first time, and I come back with this feeling of speed not unlike Speed Racer. My wife and I went down this trail, and I felt like I was always a great distance away from her. When I looked down at my speedometer, I believe I was going a steady 12 miles per hour.

By the way, in my first comparison to the Alpha, I have this to say: the E20 doesn’t seem to have a cruise control. When I was on the Alpha, I was going a certain speed, and I would hear a beep, and then I could simply lift my hand off the accelerator and let the scooter do its thing. It was really something.

Yeah, it might not be just the price difference, but something tells me that the E20 might not be as superior as the Alpha. For one thing, there is no included built-in combination lock, and no built-in kickstand. There are also no turn signals.

Now, there is one thing that I like about the E20 that I think is superior is how it folds. With the Alpha, the handlebars don’t fold down in the center, but at least they lock in place. With the E20, there is this fold out thing that you hook the handlebars into. The only thing that doesn’t make it truly superior is that it doesn’t lock in. I find that I can carry it around, but when I put it down, the fold out thing tends to unlock.

Fortunately, the E20 allows to connect with the Atomi App which allows for 3 Speed Modes of Pedestrian, Eco, and Sports. The app also is good for battery level, map navigation, distance, and I guess there is a cruise control. Maybe the company just copy/pasted the info from the Atomi Alpha, because the description for the app on the E20 website mentions a light pattern, and the E20 doesn’t seem to have that.

So, I want to talk about the motor, and it has a 500 Watt Powerful Brushless Motor. It also has a long-range battery life of about 19 miles. I should probably talk about the front and rear brake for some safe braking.

What Does This Company Make?

Yeah, not really much, as when I went to the company website, the Alpha Scooter is the only product that they seem to have, but that was the first time I reviewed an Atomi product. Oh, they had some accessories to go with it, but it makes me wonder what else this company has to offer.

I began to wonder if there is a beta scooter on the way, but that sounds like a lesser scooter. Sorry. I really hate how the term “alpha” has been getting a lot of association with the word “male”. I believe that this E20 Electric Scooter is probably the next step down, but there is a E30, and who knows, maybe we’ll review that sometime.
