Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)
Okay, this is the second time I have reviewed a Viaim product, and I am glad that I was able to review it using the same application. I have to say that these earbuds, the OpenNote, are slighly different from the RecDot that I covered very recently, but they have similar features.
Namely, they have that AI function. I think we’re sort of embracing this age of AI, and we’re just kind of putting it on everything. In the case of these earbuds, it does come in handy. After all, you can use these earbuds to record a conversation, and you can also use them for translation.
I have a demonstration of this on the video below, but there are some things you can only slightly hear as far as the translation is concerned. There is an app which allows you to take your transcription and do something else with it, should you choose to do that! There is also some FlashRecord indepedent recording technology that to help with that.
I will say that these are easy to pair and the sound is especially good. I am told that it has 53 hours of battery life, which is a very positive thing! Oh, that is 53 hours with the charging case, but 19 hours with the earbuds. Other features include Bluetooth 5.3 and some waterproof capability, like IP55.
If you like this, you can get this on the Viaim site for about $169.99.
Facts About The Company
This is what I found on the company’s vision statement: “Our vision is to help people work smarter, not harder, in the workplace, and enjoy life with ease and freedom. While we’re still small, we believe in the power of being small and focused to drive real change.” It sounds like that want to use AI for some cool stuff.
What Does This Company Make?
In addition to the RecDot, there is a product on the Viaim site called the OpenNote, and it looks pretty cool, actually.
Okay, Get To The Unboxing Already!
Maybe I Want It, But Is There Anything Else Like It? Maybe For A Lower Price? Please?
Of course we have reviewed a lot of earbuds, but nothing with this level of AI. If I had to make a comparison, I would say it is quite similar to the Vasco Translators that I have reviewed in the past.
