Three years ago, a new version of The Omen was released on June 6, 2006. It’s 06-06-06, get it? Yeah, I’ve probably had way too much 666 on the brain with these posts, but can you blame me? Much of the Christian fear of technology can be narrowed down to this three-digit number.
Contrary to popular fears, nothing bad happened on 06.06.06. However, there are a lot of cool stuff in the Tech world happening on 09.09.09.
The first is Beatles Rock Band. If you have Rock Band in your family, then you will find that your home is a place where everyone plays together in harmony. That, or a good distraction before the kids go to bed. Whatever the case, I’ve been looking forward to its release, and I hope they have my favorites like “Eight Days a Week” and “We Can Work It Out”.
The second is the release of a new Tim Burton movie that is simply called 9. I like Tim Burton’s style, especially in movies like Edward Scissorhands and Big Fish, where the suburbs is a setting for the fantastic. Scissorhands is practically the story of Jesus, really. I have attached a video of the trailer below, which is a great demonstration of Burton’s ugly yet still beautiful style.
The last event is something that I will report about then. Apple is planning on hosting some sort of rock and roll event in the Yerba Buena Center of the Arts. It is predicted that they will launch some new line of iPods, and iTunes 9.
So brace yourself for next week, as it’s going to be a 09-09-09 to remember!
