It has been a hot summer here, and I can’t help but wonder how it is affecting our four-legged friends. Every time I see a dog in the summertime panting its life out, I always feel sorry for it, especially for those long-haired dogs.
Some people at Rethink Canada an agency in Toronto have come up with a prototype Dog Caller which will text the owner when it is too hot out. This would be about 78.8 degrees Fahrenheit or 26 degrees Celsius, and I would imagine that people would have to take special precautions.
I hope people don’t use this to justify keeping a dog in a car. That never really works out well for the dog, as I recall, even with the window open.
The Dog Caller is planned to be out next year, with a partnership with the Toronto Humane Society. We will see on that one.
