What you are seeing here is the Shimi, and it is a Kickstarter project created by some roboticists (apparently that is a real word) at MIT.
It is called the Shimi because it is meant to sound like “shimmy”, as its hammerhead bobs up and down whenever your iPod, iPhone, or other MP3 player plays the music.
This is just one Kickstarter project from Tovbot. According to my Source, they want to do other task-centric robots such as a lamp robot that will follow you around and turn on lights when you need it, as well as a kitchen scale that can act as a sous chef.
If you want to get in on this TovBot deal, feel free to give $129 for a donation, and it will get it to you when it comes out. You could wait until it does come out and pay about $199 for it.
