In coming to CES 2013, it seems like everyone and their dog has the latest of the latest. Oftentimes, it is the simplest of ideas that really capture my attention.

Such was the case when I went to the VOXX International Press Conference this morning and saw a very interesting product known as the Soundflow. The Soundflow is essentially a clock-radio, which is essentially a dead technology. Still, people still use them even though most of us have gone to leaving our smartphone by our bedroom table.

The Soundflow is able to take the sound from a phone and become its speaker. There are a lot of products that can do that, but Soundflow doesn’t use Bluetooth. The method of “pairing” involves magnetic coupling, and makes it very easy for the consumer to get sound by their bedside.

This product should be available in May 2013 for a price of $29.99.
