I think we are all interested in Google’s Glass project. If you aren’t familiar with it, it is a pair of googles that are essentially a head-mounted display, and it could change the world of mobile computing as we know it.
Google is now putting out a video that shows what it could be like to have it, and it has made me long for it. Of course, the people in the video are in the middle of exciting things. I mean, one guy is sculpting a tiger head out of a block of ice, for crying out loud! You can see the tiger head guy get a picture of his inspiration in the upper right corner of the screen.
You will note how easy it will be to take a picture or a video with just a command, or share something with friends on Facebook. I will have to admit that most of my life is not on hot-air balloons, trapezes, but rather behind a desk.
Now, I think what is interesting is what the video doesn’t show. At no point do you see anyone look at themselves from the other side, and no one looks at a mirror. Is it possible that we all don’t want to look at someone with goggles on all the time?
