So, yes, it has been less than two months since our last review of UAG products, and we were very pleased when another shipment arrived, just in time before Christmas week. This time, we are looking at some cool iPad Cases, and a few AirPod Caes as well.
Our Review of the UAG Scout Series iPad 10.9-inch with Folio Cases
Okay, so this Scout series is pretty much something. It is a terrific Folio case, meaning you are set if you want to watch a video on it, or maybe pair a Bluetooth keyboard to it.
It is made of an advanced featherlight composite construction, and it is also impact resistant. I mean, it meets military drop-test standards with increased shock protection. Another feature is the smart auto-wake/sleep function, plus a very handy place to hold your Apple Pencil.
I don’t know if this is another feature, but I am told that the Scout Series is “Tested in Medical Environments”. Yeah, that is very interesting, isn’t it? Anyway, if you want this, head on over to the UAG website and pay $49.95 for this.
Our Review of the UAG PLYO SE iPad 10.9-inch Case
Okay, now that we got that Scout series done, let’s check out the PLYO SE. We have reviewed some products with the PLYO label before from UAG, and I believe it has something to do with its transparent nature. As for the SE label, I believe it might have something to do with the camo pattern, but I am not certain. I remember reviewing a UAG Pathfinder SE that had a camo pattern.
Similar to the Scout, this has a featherlight armor shell for some impact protection. It also has smart auto wake/sleep functionality as well as a place to hold the Apple Pencil.
The big difference that I see is how the PLYO functions as a Folio case vs. the Scout. There are these notches made for a viewing mode as well as an option of a typing mode.
If the PLYO SE iPad 10.9 inch Case is something that you want, head on over to the UAG site and pay $69.95 for it.
Our Review of the UAG Metropolis Series iPad 10.9-inch Case
The last iPad case that I’m going to talk about is the Metropolis, and this one really gives a lot of protection for the iPad, and I am talking about 360 degrees. It also has the featherlight construction, but it definitely feels like a suit of armor.
It seems like it also has the auto-wake sleep function, and it can store the Apple Pencil. If you have seen enough UAG products, then you know how the company specializes in this one type of design that I can only describe as “buckle”. I’ve got to come up with something new for that, honestly.
If this is something that you want, head on over to the UAG site and lay down $69.95 for it.
Our Review of the Standard Issue Silicone Case for Apple AirPods 3rd Gen
This particular case for the AirPods (3rd Generation) is completely silicone, and so it feels quite soft.
In addition to the soft case, it comes with a detachable carabiner, one that is oddly rectangular. Most carabiners that I see are usually teardrop shaped, so I’m not certain what is up with this.
Now, I will have to say that this is pretty minimal protection, but it is better than nothing. It is available on the UAG site for a price of $29.95.
Our Review of the Pathfinder Series Case for Apple Airpods (3rd Gen)
I have to say that I like the protection that this Pathfinder case for the AirPods provides, as it has a durable PC outer and a TPU internal construction that is also IP68 rated waterproof. In addition to water, the Pathfinder can withstand dust, dirt, and sand for up to 1.5 meters underwater for up to about thirty minutes.
That is the short form. I will have to say that I had a huge issue with opening this the first time. Seriously, we have to lift a latch, and then press in something and wedge it open. It comes with a carabiner that looks more like a carabiner than the one on the Silicone case.
If you want this Pathfinder Series Case for the AirPods 3rd Generation, you can get it on the UAG site for about $49.95.
