Smartish Review Part 4: Gripzilla, Gripmunk, Wallet Slayer, Charge Dinghy, Charge Shack, Crown Joule, Case Clinger, and More!

July 24, 2025 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)

Like you can see in the title, this is the fourth part of this review. Normally, when you see a number, it usually means the one before it is pretty recent. In this case, it’s been quite a while since we reviewed any Smartish products. This time, we got quite a few.

Our Review of the Smartish Gripmunk with MagSafe

First on our list of products to review from Smartish is the Gripmunk with MagSafe. It is a case that is made with camera, screen, and corner protection.

I’ve heard that it is safe to drop at 6 feet, and the reason why it is called the Gripmunk is because it is “grippy not sticky”. Oh yes, did I mention that it is compatible with MagSafe?

Something else that I should mention is that it doesn’t just come in one color, even though it is in the image. You can see in the video all the types of designs that it has, and they are many. One is Wildflower Fields, and then there is also Bloom Bash. There was this also another one that I couldn’t find on the website, but it would appear to be some Asian street at night.

So, if you want to get in on this, you can get it for the iPhone 16 models. Like the iPhone 16 Pro Max here for $24.99, and the iPhone 16 here for $29.99.

Our Review of the Smartish Wallet Slayer Vol. 1 and Vol. 2

I think I’m just going to do a two-in-one with the Volume 1 and Volume 2 of the Wallet Slayer. These particular cases are made of some material, but I am not certain what it is.

I do know that it can hold about 3 cards plus some cash, but I’m not certain how much cash. Like the Gripmunk, the Wallet Slayer Volume seems to sell itself as “grippy and not sticky”.

As far as I can tell, the only difference between Wallet Slayer Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 is that the Volume 1 seems to have a more interesting design, which you can see in the video. That Volume 1 feels tougher to me, really.

The Wallet Slayer Vol. 2 is available for about $34.99 for the iPhone 16 Plus here.

Our Review of the Smartish Gripzilla

Twice now, I have said “grippy and not sticky”. The Gripzilla is made to stay in the hand, with its finger grooves and grippy sides.

The Gripzilla case is made to be pretty hard, but it feels quite soft, honestly. I have been told that it can withstand a 6 foot fall, which matches the Gripmunk with MagSafe. Oh yes, this particular version of the Gripzilla is made for the MagSafe.

By the way, when I was talking about the Gripmunk, I mentioned that it comes in all kinds of designs rather than a solid color. What you see in the image is the “Say Anything” model, so you can hold it above your head like the main character in that film. Or maybe Deadpool, if that’s what you’re more familiar with.

You can get this for all iPhone models like the iPhone Pro for about $34.99 here.

Our Review of the Smartish Charge Dinghy

Okay, this Charge Dinghy is pretty great, made for MagSafe compatible phones for when you need some juice in your iPhone. But wait, I just tried this on my Android phone, and strangely enough, it worked.

It has a 6 Foot USB-C Cable, and what is interesting is how it even comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter. I am told that this supports 7.5 W charging, and it is also temperature regulated.

You will notice the really cool design on it, but that is just one of the variations that it comes with. You can get it on the Smartish website for about $34.99.

Our Review of the Smartish Side Hustle

So, this is another product that is made for MagSafe compatible iPhones, but I found that it worked just fine for my Android wireless magnetic charge phone. This is the Side Hustle.

You know what a side hustle is, a way of making some money on the side. So why not have some credit cards and cash in the side of your moneymaker, that is, your smartphone? In fact, you can hold 3 different credit cards, maybe a little cash, too.

The Side Hustle is made with some vegan leather, and you can get it on the Smartish website for about $34.99.

Our Review of the Smartish Car Mount, Crown Joule, and Charge Shack

I’m going to just do a three-for-one here with this review, because these can be used together. This MagSafe Car Mount, which I believe is also known as the Mountaineer, or at least that is what it says on the packaging.

Now, I was hoping that this would be a product that comes with some kind of, I don’t know, charging cord, but it doesn’t. It does attach to your dashboard, thanks to the help of some 3M adhesive.

So, there is a magnet that you can use on this for MagSafe, and you will have to get a charging cord separately. You can purchase the Car Mount on the Smartish site for $35.99.

Okay, these last two items I’m not really going to put images of, but you can see them on the video. Still, the Crown Joule is a charging cord that you can use with the Car Mount, and the one that I had was a USB-C to USB-C and Lightning. That would be available on the Smartish site for $24.99.

Then there is the Charge Shack, a Dual-Port Quick Charge made for the outlet (with retractable prongs). It has a port for the USB-A and USB-C, with 18W and 65W, respectively. You can get that on the Smartish site for about $44.99.

Our Review of the Case Clinger

This is another time where I won’t put an image here, as there are two types.

The first is the Crossbody Sling, which has a component that you put in your phone and phone case, and then you can attach this thing to it. Now you can wear your phone around your neck, apparently.

I demonstrated this on the video, as I did with the one for your wrist. If you’re interested, the Crossbody Sling is $44.99 and the other is $24.99 here.

Facts About The Company

This company is based out of Austin, Texas, and started in 2009. Apparently, it started with some kind of napkin doodle of a case/wallet combo. This was back before every company was making this type of product, and the person who made it thought it was “smart-ish”. That’s one heck of an origin story.

What Does This Company Make?

All kinds of smartphone accessories. That includes phone cases, charging cables, and case add-ons.

Okay, Get To The Unboxing Already!

Maybe I Want It, But Is There Anything Else Like It? Maybe For A Lower Price? Please?

Where else can you find smartphone accessories? How about…everywhere? Yeah, I think I mentioned CASETiFY in my video, and that company has a bit more diversity, but Smartish is catching up. There are companies like UAG and Otterbox which really makes them tough, which appears to be what they are going for. I’ve also reviewed Speck, and I’m doing a review of Supcase a week after this posts.

I have to admit that Smartish familiar prices at very low prices, and the quality is up to par.

So, like I said in the video (but didn’t fully commit to the bit) “Get Smartish”.
