Madeleine machine can capture smells

July 5, 2013 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Just so we are clear, this video that you see here is about recording smells, which I have reported on twice just this year. Considering that I do about three posts per weekday, that is saying something. Oh, you can read about Gameskunk and the other one I wrote about here and here. Just pick one or the other.

I suppose that this Madeleine, works differently, as you can actually see how to acquire the smell. I have no idea why it has this name, as isn’t Madeleine a series of children’s books about a small girl in a school of French nuns? Yeah, that is Madeline, but if you want to capture a smell of something, you have to capture it under glass. Then you have to put the scent in a trap, and you got it.

Now it is time to talk about what good it is to capture a smell. Do you want to smell your movies or TV shows? Or your MP3 songs? Yeah, this is tech that I just don’t see taking off. I realize people want 3D on their movies for a little extra, but I suppose it would be interesting to add smells on films.

Well, let us see what the world of sight and sound along with smells will give us.
