Stanford University has a video game controller that knows how the user feels

April 9, 2014 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Stanford controllerI think we all know that controllers like the Kinect can “see” you and allow you to manipulate them via gesture controls. Is it any wonder that Stanford University is developing controllers to sense the user’s…feelings?

Seriously, that is what is happening. Apparently, these controllers can sense how fast the heart is beating, as well as how much oxygen is in the bloodstream. Well, we shouldn’t be surprised that the video game controller works like a body monitor, but what good is it?

Well, imagine playing a game where the controller realizes that you are bored. It could be pre-programmed to put in some enemies as a challenge. Also, imagine playing a game that know when you are getting way to in it. Perhaps the game could slack off a little.

Well, we’ll see where this project goes, as I believe that it has a valid future.
