NEEWER Review Once Again: NL-192AI Bi-Color LED Panel Light and RL45B 45W 18″ Slim Edge Lit Ring Light Kit

October 23, 2024 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)

So, we had a great time reviewing those NEEWER products that are essentially mobile batteries for very advanced audio and video equipment. It would appear that the company is a friend of content creators, and we have two new products to review from them.

Our Review of the NEEWER NL-192AI Bi-Color LED Panel Light

So, I have to say that if you want to create content on YouTube, you are going to need some great lighting. By great lighting, I mean a way to take advantage of the high-resolution cameras on smartphones, which is what I use to record most of my video content. I would recommend NL-192AI Bi-Color LED Panel Light for that.

The NL-192AI is a battery-operated Panel Light with a battery capacity of 8000 mAh. It includes an AC cord for recharging, as well as a “Cold Shoe Adapter”, which I highlighted on the video because I didn’t know the name of the part at the time. That part allows you to hinge this guy, in case you don’t know.

There is a screen that will tell you how much battery life is left. By the way, that screen gives you some really cool readouts like brightness, and it can get pretty bright as the maximum illumination is 2400Lux. Then there is the color temperature. If you don’t know what that is, here it is:

Color temperature is a parameter describing the color of a visible light source by comparing it to the color of light emitted by an idealized opaque, non-reflective body.

When I adjusted the color temperature, I found that it made the light “softer” for lack of a better term. Then there is the Color Rendering Index, which is a measurement of how well a light source can reproduce the colors of objects. It has a stat of 97 plus, while apparently the others are 85 plus. Now, I’m getting that info from the NEEWER website, so take that how you should.

Now, I had to find a mount for it, and I can’t help but think the NEEWER probably makes one. I hope to review one of them, but I’m going to check out more NEEWER products for sure, if they let me do that. Fortunately, I have a NEEWER product in my possession that I am looking forward to reviewing.

Our Review of the NEEWER RL45B 45W 18″ Slim Edge Lit Ring Light Kit

Okay, I do like the RL45B Ring Light Kit, because it is quite a ring light. If you aren’t familiar with that kind of device, then you should probably do more content creation. Yeah, if you do videos like I do, then you are going to need some really cool lighting, or at least adequate lighting. Ring Lights are great because they will not only provide light, but they are a great thing that holds your smartphone while you’re recording. Yeah, I use mine all the time, and this, I might use a whole lot as well.

You can see in the video how much fun that I had with the setup, which was not too difficult. Once you get the legs all set up and lock them in place, it is pretty easy to put the ring light on a hinge and then the fun begins. Best of all, it comes with a carrying case so you can take your show on the road.

What is interesting is how there is this control panel that magnetically locks on the front. It comes in handy when you are doing something and you want the light to look just right, and the Light Kit also has a Bluetooth shutter so you can click a button to start your recording.

Yes, this thing comes with an app so you can take control, and I wasn’t really able to demonstrate that on the video. There is also this dongle that plugs in for what I assume is kind of some remote control aspect as well. I am also told that there is an FX Mode for 12 special scene effects for some really good realistic scenarios.

I do have effective demonstrations of how bright the 18-inch screen can get. You can also adjust the color temperature for some very interesting results.

Facts About The Company

I think it would be better if I just quoted the company’s website:

As a world-renowned brand of photographic equipment, Neewer focuses on the development of software and equipment relating to photography, live streaming, and videos.

So yes, this company makes a lot of great products for photography and video, made at an entry level price. In other words, it looks like they make products that will probably make my videos look good.

What Does This Company Make?

Neewer makes a lot of brand photographic equipment, as well as a whole lot of software and equipment related to photography, live-streaming and videos. You will find all kinds of products made for photography lighting, LED panels, ring lights, video recording equipment, video lights, monitors, microphones, auxiliary light control accessories, soft boxes, tripods, lenses, filters, and much more.
