Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)
It is not often that I review a camera of this type with the mirrorless LUMIX GH6 from Panasonic, but when I get it, I am glad that I get it. I am not really the expert on this camera, but I will do the best I can to talk about its myriad features.
I will start by talking about the 25.2 Megapixel Live MOS Sensor without LPF, which brings high resolution and high-speed signal readout that reduces the shutter problem with a wide dynamic range. There is also a new Venus Engine for twice the processing power, which enables high-speed processing of the new sensor’s pixel counts.
It also has three key technologies that include: 1) New Intelligent Detail Processing, for detecting the edges and flat and detailed parts in a frame more accurately; 2) New 2D Noise Reduction, to suppress chromatic noise and improve the texture of luminance noise to make the photo clear and natural; and 3) High Precision 3D Noise Reduction for video, with detection capability of still and moving parts being more advanced.
There is also a new advanced sensor with enhanced saturation performance in 25.2 Megapixel high resolution and lower minimum ISO sensitivity at ISO 100. There is also 12+ stops of wide dynamic range for pre-installed V-Log recording capability. There is also a Dynamic Range Boost mode, saturation priority image generated from low ISO ciruit and low noise image generated from high ISO circuit are synthesized at each pixel.
For handheld shooting, there is a super high-precision 5-axis gyro sensor with new algorithm for 7.5 stops of Body I.S. You can even get about 100 Megapixel high resolution images without a tripod. There is a 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 working for video recording including 4K for natural, comfortable-to-see video footage.
Let’s talk about how video achieves 4:2:2 10-bit C4K 60p unlimited video recording time. It’s also good for 4:2:0 10-bit 4K120p which is equivalent to 5x slow motion, and 4:2:2 10-bit FHD 240p High Frame Rate (HFR). Honestly, I’m not certain what this all does.
I think I’m just going to look at the instructions just so I can talk about the features. For example, I checked out the LVF button, and it just switches it from the viewfinder to the screen. There’s also this front dial for changing the aperture, but I don’t know when that means. There’s also this White Balance button, and it certainly changes the look of the shot, all right. There there is this ISO sensitivity which creates some weird light and dark effects. Then there is a exposure compensation button, and all of these can be controlled by that front dial that I just talked about.
Right by the power button is this dial for different modes, and I have noticed all of the framing changes. There is also this audio information button, giving some kind of feel of the how the audio is being interpreted.
You can see the screen which is a touchscreen that can be flipped and turned around for some extra protection, and there is a playback button as well. Then there is this AF or autofocus button to really bring a subject into focus. There is also a joystick thing here, and I don’t know what this does. Also, there is a focus mode lever.
There is also a Menu button, and a quick menu button. I did discover that this is where the joystick button comes into play.
I’m just going to say that this is a camera for professionals, and I wish I could show you some of the finer details of this. But hey, I’m not going to be able to do a studio video for a while, so I think I’m just going to do this. I mean, I know that there are filmmakers out there who can really use this, and you would have to be a real filmmaker to pay over $2,000 for this.
Facts About The Company
Okay, at this point, you’ve had to have at least heard of Panasonic. You might remember that video I did where I showed off their Press Conference at CES 2023. Speaking of CES 2023, the booth at Panasonic takes up some of the biggest amount of real estate at the big trade show, with Samsung and LG probably taking the lead.
What Does This Company Make?
At this point, I’m having a hard time finding a product that Panasonic does not make, but let’s focus on cameras. Panasonic released the LUMIX GH series years ago in 2009 with the DMC-GH1.

What Do the Reviews Say?
I couldn’t really find anything on Panasonic’s website as far as a decent review goes, but I will say that Amazon’s review of them has been quite positive with a 4.3 out of 69 ratings. It boils down to 73 percent 5-star reviews, and that is a good sign.

Maybe I Want It, But Is There Anything Else Like It? Maybe For A Lower Price? Please?
In all honesty, I don’t review a lot of cameras like this. Some of you might have seen the price-point, and yes, it is quite up there. I like to review stuff like this, but usually I have to return it if it gets this high, and it is quite high.
I’m sure there is a cheaper option of camera, but man, this is quite something, honestly. You can see me in the video how awkward I am at it, but I’m sure that a professional would have not problem with this.
