Some of my favorite inventions are the “see a need, fill a need” type. In the case of the Wingo, the designers noticed that people were holding the Kindle and other e-readers with awkward postures and pinch grips, which could easily lead to repetitive stress injuries.
The Wingo has these wings that will virtually hold onto the user’s hand, eliminating the need for any pinching or otherwise carrying the weight of the device on the fingertips.
The designers are hoping to create a model capable of providing some protection for the e-reader. I can’t help but wonder if they are planning some sort of similar product for the iPad as well.
The Wingo is a Kickstarter project, and it has already, to this writing, achieved about 1/3 of its funding goals. Personally, I believe that a lot of good things are in store for this product, and I hope you will look back and say that you heard it here first.
