For some odd reason, the image of the cat lady, a woman with cat ears, is really popular in anime. I hope that the reason isn’t perverse, but if you like a like things like the Neocomimi, then you might like the Axent Wear Cat Ear Headphones.
The Axent Wear is developed by two UC Berkeley alumni, and it has ears on the top that look like cat’s ears, and double as speakers. I’ve seen headphones that have speakers on them before, but never in this appropriate shape. Let’s not forget that the “inside” speakers are 40 mm drivers with 20 Hz to 20 KHz frequency response.
In addition to the top speakers, it has another interesting feature: LED accent lights, and they come in red, green, or purple. Right now, it is on an Indiegogo campaign for about $150, and you can pay $2,000 for a lot more with a custom paint job. The product has achieved its funding goals, and I can’t wait to see if the big headphone companies will immitate it.
