Since it has been a while since I have reviewed a Creative Labs product, I felt it necessary to review something that we all need right now. I mean, we still aren’t leaving this COVID-19 behind anytime soon, so it is handy to have a something needed for Zoom chats.
I have to admit that the Creative Chat USB is very easy to use. All I did was plug it into my USB C port, and I had sound coming through headphones right away. Normally, I have to plug in something into the Aux port, so you can imagine my surprise when this actually worked very easily.
Not only that, but I was pretty surprised at the controls built right on the wire. So I could very easily adjust the volume there, or click a button to take a call.
There is also a mute button, but I could always just flip up the microphone if I wanted to get a little quiet going on. Speaking of quiet, there is a nice noise-cancelling boom mic that will filter out any ambient noise.
In addition to working on a PC for Zoom chats and more, the Creative Chat USB can also be used for gaming, as it is compatible with the PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. But wait, don’t those gaming systems only come with USB A ports? Well fortunately, the Creative Chat USB comes with a converter.
The only thing that it doesn’t have is Bluetooth, and yes, it is made to be wired, which will keep the price down to $49.99, available on the Creative Labs site now.
