AEG Test Hound 3699 Radon Detector

August 22, 2025 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)

I have to admit, I have at least heard of Radon. I mean, it is an element, after all, its number 86 on the periodic table. It is also a naturally occurring radioactive gas, and poses a health risk, like it causes lung cancer. Radon is invisible, odorless, and it can enter homes through cracks and openings in foundations and walls. And so you can test for it, so why not use a product like the AEG Test Hound 3699 Radon Detector.

The Hound 3699 is a pretty simple set up, as all you need to do is plug it in. Granted, it comes with only a USB-C to USB-A cable, but if you like, you can get some kind of adapter for that. It takes concentration readings of every 10 minutes for current.

I wasn’t able to get any demonstration of the visual and audible alerts, but hitting the thresholds will create visual and sound warnings. You will be able to have real-time radon levels.

There is a data storage thing going on which can store up a year of radon reading, auto-generating PDF reports of concentration levels. I also didn’t demonstrate that on the video.

I am told that this has a 5000 mAh battery, so you can unplug it for a while if you want. I’m not certain what to do if you actually get a radon alert. I’ll leave that up to you as far as the treatment is concerned.

You should be able to get the AEGTest Hound 3699 on the Amazon site for about $104.99 normally $119.99.

Facts About The Company

I don’t really know much about AEG Test, so I will have to say that I’m going to just pass on having any information about it.

What Does This Company Make?

Well, from what I found on Amazon, and I saw that AEG Test makes testers. Yeah, big shock.
