Fresh from my review of that Moshi case for the GS 5 with a window comes a Kickstarter project that takes it way to the next level with the InkCase Plus.
This concept is a way of putting a second screen on the Galaxy S5, and I applaud its method. It comes with a case, and within the case is a place for an E-Ink screen. Now, the E-Ink’s display is in black and white, but the reason why some versions of Amazon’s Kindle use them is because it has a long-lasting battery life. I have to charge my smartphone for about an hour every night, but this E Ink second screen won’t need all that much maintenance as it can grant 18 hours of reading time.
This thing even has Bluetooth, so you can send files to it. You know, in case you want to read an e-book but don’t want to drain the battery of your GS 5. All your access to notifications and apps will be there if you need them.
It looks like the InkCase Plus has reached its $100,000 goal, which means that you will be seeing it soon. I believe that the early-bird special was $79, but we’ll see what it will be when it hits the market. Of course, by the time it comes out, the Galaxy S 6 could be on the market.
