Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)
Well, I am overdue on this report, but I am glad to try out the Hohem MIC-01. So, why is this overdue? Well, long story about my journey with Hohem.
The truth is, I saw Hohem at CES 2024, and I was pleased to do a video about their products before I even received them. Yeah, the deal was they wanted a video at their booth, and then I was supposed to review their products less than two weeks later.
Of course, I’m late with that review, like by a month. Part of it was this MIC-01 that was given me was something that I couldn’t take home. This was because I had a lot of stuff that I had to take home from CES, so I just sent it to myself.
The Hohem Microphone MIC-01 comes with some really awesome stuff, such as this charging case. Then you put in the transmitters, along with the receiver. The receiver just plugs in to the bottom of the smartphone, and there is a USB-C version as well as a Lightning (probably won’t be a lighting for long, because Lightning is on its way out).
Then, all you need to do is just sync the transmitters with the receiver, which is easy to do. All you need to do is just touch the button on the transmitter, and then wait for the receiver lights to stop blinking.
Included is a storage pouch, and a charging cable, not to mention two windscreens. I probably should have demonstrated the windscreens on the video, but I think I did a good demonstration of the sound. By the way, you can clip these mics on you, or you can use the magnet.
Yes, you can see in the video my demonstration. I used my regular recording phone with a Bluetooth earbuds, which is what I usually use for my videos. Then I did a video with the Hohem MIC-01, and I found the sound to be much louder, sometimes too loud, but it was clearer at times.
Yeah, you can watch the video if you want to see proof of this, and I would just prefer if you see for yourself. I hope that this is an effective demonstration. You can get this Hohem Microphone MIC-01 on the Hohem site.
Facts About The Company
Hohem was founded in 2014, and it is a gimbal technology company, which is good for high-performance intelligent image stabilization. The company also is good for intelligent imaging tech, face-tracking tech, and they make a 3-axis smartphone gimbal.
What Does This Company Make?
In addition to microphones, this company makes a lot of camera gimbals, mobile gimbals, and an action camera gimbal. I actually believe that this is the company’s biggest cash cow, and I am guessing the microphone product might be their offshoot product, or something. That might not be the case, but we really need to talk about reviewing more of the Hohem products.

Amazon has this on their website, and they have 11 ratings that are 5.0. Is this microphone really that good? Well, let’s get to my review.
Okay, Get To The Unboxing Already!
Maybe I Want It, But Is There Anything Else Like It? Maybe For A Lower Price? Please?
I have reviewed a lot of microphones in the past, and here are some of them that I have reviewed. At CES 2023, I reviewed the HollyLand Lark C1, which has a very similar set-up to the MIC-01. Then there is the Sabinetek SmartMike+, which has Bluetooth, but is really cool and I have used several times.
