It really is funny to see people shell out hundred of technology for tech that they may not even need, but this Camp Grounded requires you to pay $350 to get rid of technology for the duration of your stay.
You heard me right, Camp Grounded wants you to pay for no Wi-Fi, and smartphones are not allowed. Believe it or not, it is sold-out. I still can’t get over how funny this concept is, and it is interesting that grown people are paying to do archery, capture the flag, and other camp conventions.
The company that puts this out is called Digital Detox, which is really an appropriate name for something like this. Man, you really need to go to rehab for your tech? It is held at Camp Navarro in the Northern California Redwoods.
I think it is funny how Summer Camp is always seen like the Prom in America film and TV. I can think of a lot of coming-of-age stories that take place in summer camp, and if you put too much tech in your summer camp movie, it wouldn’t work.
Even the USA network has a reality show known as Summer Camp, which looks…awful. If only this show would be so anti-tech, then we would never see it.
