Nike shoes from Back to the Future II could be coming in 2015

February 18, 2014 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

nike-mag-7_610x596I’m sure that most of you know that the film Back to the Future II contained a scene where Marty goes into the year 2015. At the time of the film’s release in 1989, it seemed like 2015 would never arrive. Now we are only one year away from it.

Well, I think it is pretty obvious that we won’t have flying cars and mid-air traffic by next year. However, the one thing we will have are the Nike shoes with power laces. That’s right, they will have them, and the laces will tie themselves.

Considering that these shoes had a limited-edition launch in 2011, minus power laces, it stands to reason that an actual working model of these iconic shoes from the film would make it to reality. By the way, the limited edition was only 1,500 pairs, which means that several consumers didn’t get what they wanted.

Well, I hope the shoes have the glowing Nike logo on them, but I wonder what will power the laces, and what will happen with the battery runs out. It is a geeky dream come true, even if the cool pastel future from the second Future movie seems fleeting.
