I will have to say that one of my best sources of information is my wife. Today I came out in the living room and my wife told me that glowing bunny rabbits had been perfected from the University of Hawaii, nonetheless.
Apparently, the reason for the luminescent bunnies have something to do with fighting hereditary diseases. I am not certain how it works, but they only glow under black light. The luminescence is to show that the genetic manipulation is working, and so drugs can be made to fight genetic disorders.
By the way, this isn’t the first time that a glowing animal has been created. There was a CalTech study for glowing mice as well as a glowing cat and dog. Believe it or not, they hope to use bigger and bigger animals for these glowing experiments. What is next, glowing polar bears?
