Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)

Okay, I’m glad I got to know RICOH at CES 2025 last January, and I was very pleased to do this ScanSnap iX1300. When they offered to send me one, I have to admit, I was a little skeptical before trying it out.

So here’s what I thought it was going to be. Let’s say you have a big stack of papers, and you need a place to store them. Maybe it is a bunch of tax records, business cards, or even photos. Well, you can put them in the ScanSnap iX1300, push a button, and bam! That entire stack will be scanned, and then wirelessly stored in your computer.

That is what I was expecting, and I was very glad that this is what I got. The setup was not too difficult. All I needed to do was plug it in to the wall, and then plug it into the computer, and there was a USB-B to USB-A cable for that. From there, it was simple matter to download the software, and then I had to set it up for Wi-Fi. As it turns out, there was a Wi-Fi switch in the back. Honestly, I don’t know why you would want to turn off the Wi-Fi.

Once the Wi-Fi is set-up, you can unplug the thing, and it is all synced up. It is important that you do that, and then you can put in a stack of papers, hit the big round button, and you are there. Seriously, it just sucked them in, and then the my computer asked me where they wanted to be saved.

Then I saw that all my documents were in order, and saved as pdf files. This included photos and business cards. It copied both sides of the documents, like notes I had written on the back of business cards. I’m told that this can do pamphlets, but I have to admit, I didn’t do that on the video.

Since I’m looking up features on the ScanSnap iX1300, I learned that it can save as jpgs and you can edit the document on Microsoft Word or Excel. I probably should try that as well. I might as well tell you that this can scan 30 pages a minute, and you can do up to 20 pages.

Facts About The Company

Good grief, there seems to be a lot of info about this company. I was hoping to just get a good “About Us” page, but man, I’m seeing all kinds of stuff here. Apparently, there big into helping businesses with their tech.

What Does This Company Make?

When I was on the conference call with these guys, which you can see in the video, they told me they make these conference call things as well as copiers/printers. I’m hoping to get another chance on something else, but I’ve got to finish this article first.

Maybe I Want It, But Is There Anything Else Like It? Maybe For A Lower Price? Please?

Since I don’t have any experience reviewing anything else like this, I can’t say that I have anything to compare it to. I think it is worth the price if you have things that you want to keep virtually and not on paper, so I think it might be worth the investment even if it cost more.
