Comic Con went down in San Diego, and here’s what went down

July 22, 2013 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Every year, geeks descend unto Comic Con in Sand Diego, and this is a pretty big event for comic-book lovers and other lovers of comic-book related media. In fact, Hollywood has realized how much movie-goers love comic-book related movies, and they are always there to promote all the stuff that will be released next summer.

I have never been, but I am told they have a lot of panels where the actors and directors are there to answer fan questions. Apparently, the big news is the sequel to the Avengers will be called “The Age of Ultron”, and the next Superman movie will have Batman in it. Okay, that is about as geek as it gets, really.

As for the video that you see above, this robot was brought to you by Wired magazine and Stan Winston School. If you aren’t familiar with Stan Winston, he has made a lot of robots that you see in movies like Iron Man and the current hit, Pacific Rim. Yes, they created a robot that stands upright, and it even befriends a little girl.

I think it is interesting that we can build a robot that can do that, even if it is by remote control. They can make it safe enough so a little girl can talk to it. Yes, Comic Con isn’t just for people who love science fiction, there is some really cool science fact here.
