I’m going to start this review by saying that I have no practical experience with Pepper Spray. I have been fortunate enough never to have used it on anyone, and I have been especially fortunate enough never to receive it. If I felt a need to carry around Pepper Spray at all times, I would definitely want to carry the Sabre Smart Pepper Spray.

What makes the Smart Pepper Spray so smart? Something that I really think should be on all Pepper Sprays, honestly. After all, if you ever have to use Pepper Spray, I think it would be good if someone knew about it. That is why the Smart Pepper Spray can be paired with Sabre’s Personal Safety App, which is designed to send alerts to assigned contacts via push notification.

So let’s say I give the Smart Pepper Spray to my wife, and then, one terrible night, she is assaulted on the way home. Fortunately, the push notification that we set up insures that I am informed when my wife uses the Smart Pepper Spray.

This way, I can call up my wife to insure that she is okay. Hopefully, she would pick up right away and tell me that the situation has been handled. There is even geotracking as well as a subscription option to send an alert to the local police.

So it does need to be recharged and the canister needs to be refilled, but do I really need to give any warning about the requirements of maintenance with any piece of technology?
