The Warcraft Movie Trailer does not mean someone has actually made a good video game movie yet

November 4, 2015 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Well, if you aren’t familiar with how we do trailers now, we start with a rumor of a trailer, then a teaser trailer, and then one last one, possibly with another one. And if you can get the hype flaring more with an unknown release date, then I’ll always have a job on The Gospel Herald.

But hey, enough about what else I do for a living. Let’s talk trailers. Yeah, I’m not too fond of it either, and it has to with my presentation at MomoCon about how video game movies don’t work. Wow, I am just over-hyping all of my other works today. Anyway, I’ll just fast forward to the end and say that eventually, someone is going to make a good video game movie, probably by accident.

Maybe Warcraft minus the “World of” will be that mini-miracle. I mean, most of the world of Azeroth looks pretty good on the trailer, but I have been fooled by trailers for video games before. Shoot, I fell for Max Payne for crying out loud!

Anyway, this video clip is only 15 seconds, but there will be a longer one this Friday. I have this strange hunch that either this film will veer away from the source material and it will suck, or stay true to the source material and it will still…yeah. Anyway, the film will be out next summer, and maybe it will be a hit.
