My day is always pretty packed every time Apple makes an announcement, so it should stand to reason that the announcement of the iPhone 5S should be something.

Tim Cook took the stage to talk about it, starting with iOS 7, complete with a Command Center an Notification Center. It also comes with an improved Siri, ringtones, and a way to group photos chronologically. This will be free to download starting September 18th, and be available for the iPhone 4+, iPad 2+, and 5th Generation iPod Touch.

Next subject, iWork. Yes, Apple wanted to hype up their presentation program Keynote as well as Pages and Numbers. Lumped together with that was iPhoto and iMovie. They concluded by saying that all five of those aforementioned apps will be free on all new iOS devices, with huge applause.

I suspected the next announcement, which is two new designs for the iPhone. The iPhone 5C will come out with a “fun and colorful” design in green, yellow, blue, red, and (of course) white. The back and sides are made from a single part, with no seams, lines, or joints. A lot of the presentation went in showing how they assemble them.

The iPhone 5C is powered by A6, with a 4-inch retina display, integrated touch, full S4GB, and widescreen video. It also has 8MP iSight camera and 5-element lens. The 16 GB version will be available for $99, while the 32 GB will be available for $199, with a two-year contract. It will be available for pre-order on Sept. 13th, and arrive in stores on the 20th with its brother iPhone 5S.

As for the iPhone 5S, it comes in three colors of black, gold, and silver, and made of high-grade aluminum with cut edges. This will contain the A7 64-bit chip, which they tag as the “world’s first and only smartphone”. The graphics are 56 times faster than the original iPhone, which means it will be better at games, such as the demo for Infinity Blade III. Part of the graphics success is also with the M7, a motion co-processor.

The battery life also looks good with 10 hours 3G talk time, 250 hours standby. There is also 10 hours LTE browsing, with 40 hours of music playback. The camera is also a remarkable improvement.

Another big feature on the iPhone 5S is the touchprint ID, which will change how people get in to their phone. The fingerprint sensor is built into the home button, and you can make iTunes purchases using a fingerprint to authenticate. The price for the iPhone 5S is $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB, and $399 for 64GB, all with a two-year contract.
