I always love seeing what strides that technology can make in really truly make our lives easier. I like to report on the gadgets that I think are going to “rock the world” the most.
This device created by Bounce Imaging looks like it could save lives. One of the problems with being on the police force or on the fire brigade is that you never know what might be around the next corner. Imagine being able to throw this ball that you see here in the still image and get a scan of the immediate area. Considering the conflicts in Iraq were often fought from dwelling to dwelling, it would be good to simply just hurl in a ball and see if there is a sniper waiting around the corner.
You can see in the video that the device is fall of cameras, and the video footage can be monitored on some sort of mobile device. If I were using this device in say, a hostile situation, I would make it so the ball would emit a blinding flash, and then have the good guys run in and secure the scene. Pretty nifty idea, eh? Well, we’ll see what the future has to offer for such a device. If it ever does get manufactured, it might only be $500 a ball. Find out more info at Bounce Imaging here.
