While I was at PAX, I had the chance to try out Ironclad Tactics, an interesting real-time, card-based game that answers an interesting question about what would happen if there were robots in the Civil War.
Yeah, it is a stretch, and it definitely has that steampunk influence that really could have made Wild Wild West a good movie and not one of the world’s worst films in existence. But that’s worth another post.
Everyone knows that the Civil War introduced the world to ironclad battleships like the Monitor and the Merrimack. Imagine if it is possible for them to build robots as well.
The gameplay of Ironclad Tactics is all about playing a card and this enables a robot to move and do all sorts of other abilities with a deal. There are about 80 unique cards, but there are also plays one can do to insure winning at the game.
In addition to the 80-cards for plaing there is also 80 pages of graphic novel for the game. All in all, it looks like a pretty fun game, and the minutes that I played were quite cool.
I am not certain when it is coming out, but you can go here for more info.
