I realize that the EAS is a necessary part of our society of mass-communication. It is something that I never want to see, especially when it reports that “the bodies of the dead are rising from their graves and attacking the living”.

At KRTV channel 3, the EAS sent out a warning, and it was the premise of the popular comic book and TV series, The Walking Dead. The channel says that they had no idea how this warning got on the air, but it is probably the result of some hackers.

Fortunately, it wasn’t like the Orson Welles broadcast of War of the Worlds back in 1938. There was no panic, and no one even called the police about the whole thing.

This sort of makes me wonder what would happen if there was a real emergency. If some country was bombing us, would we think it was true or deny it? I’m glad this hacker used zombies as the source of an emergency.
