Considering how small our computers are now, I can’t help but wonder how long it will before it is a screen, keyboard, and a mouse. Well, if this new technology is a sign, it might not be too long before the keyboard is eliminated altogether.
Thanks to this special camera made for tablets, it can track your finger movements so you can type on an invisible keyboard. I have heard of the technology of tabletop keyboards before. Usually, I see them in the form of some red laser keyboard projected on the table. I believe that I saw that type of keyboard in the early eighties or nineties, and I never really seen any mass-produced prototype.
I am beginning to lose faith in this type of technology for that reason and another. You see, I believe that people are not really well-adjusted to touchscreen keyboards as yet. Most of us have learned on the clickity-click keyboards, and we would have to relearn how to type to get accurate on these invisible keyboards.
Of course, I am told that these tablet cameras will learn from your movements, like if you have bigger fingers and such. Maybe if this tech gets better, we can really actually type on nothing.
