What you are seeing here is something developed by New York studio Ray Kingston Inc. known as the Sneaker Speaker.

In case you haven’t figured it out, it is a way to put speakers on your sneakers. Yes, it does require a Bluetooth enabled device to work, but you could easily do the opening shot from Saturday Night Fever if you have the soundtrack on your smartphone. It doesn’t look like they are rechargeable, as each foot requires a 9 volt battery to function.

This is usually the time where I like to say how much the product is, or how much you can donate on Kickstarter to get it when it comes out. The weird thing is that the studio has not stated if this is an actual, serious tech product.

I honestly don’t think that this is a product that anyone really wants. I think there is a reason why people don’t use boom boxes anymore, because no one wants to bring noise pollution anymore when a pair of earbuds can do it much better in a more solitary experience.
