The Zeeq Smart Pillow Review

December 17, 2018 By Kris Rollins Leave a Comment

They’re making everything “smart” these days. Smart homes are getting more advanced at helping you in life. I was given the opportunity to try out this ZEEQ Smart Pillow. This pillow can play your music, track your sleep, assist in snore cessation, and wake you up in the morning. Here’s my experience with this smart pillow.

Set-up of the ZEEQ Smart Pillow

The pillow is ready to set up right out of the box. It comes with a cord for charging. Once you have your pillow synced to your phone with the easy-to-use ZEEQ by Rem-Fit app available for iOS and Android, it’s good to give the pillow a full charge before you use it. You can go two weeks before needing to charge the pillow again.

The app is pretty straight-forward. A video in the app walks you through set-up of the pillow and registering your account to start tracking. A weekly e-mail is sent to show you the overview of what you have tracked daily on the app. There is also the ability to add Rem-Fit fitness trackers to help with your health even more. Through the app, you can set alarms, hook up music, and track your sleep and snoring.

You can also set up with Amazon Alexa and REALLY control your pillow in a smart way- just with your voice.

Comfort and Build of the ZEEQ Smart Pillow

The plush, removable and washable pillow case is very soft and pleasing to the touch. Combined with the adjustable shredded memory foam, it really is a feeling of luxury. The memory foam can be taken out if too much, or you can add more (included in the box) to adjust to your own level. The pillow is very large-  21 inch in lenth, 27 inch in width, and depth of 5 inches. A normal size pillowcase won’t cut it, but fortunately the pillowcase it comes with can be removed for washing.

There are eight wireless speakers placed throughout the pillow. These speakers are said to not disturb your sleep partner. I will say that my husband could hear some of the noises coming from the pillow as I was listening to music, but he said that it was more like a white noise. It wasn’t disturbing to him, but that might not be the case for everyone. Good thing my spouse is a sound sleeper.

A remote control is attached to the pillow that fits in a little pocket on the case. This allows for turning the pillow on and controlling the volume if your phone isn’t at hand.

A few More Thoughts on the ZEEQ Smart Pillow

My experience with the pillow was mixed. I found that I snored. I knew that. The pillow has a snore alarm that vibrates and basically serves to give a reminder to change position. Much like a partner telling you to wake up. I was going to try the snore alarm one night, but it kept vibrating before I could even fall asleep. I turned it off. The snore alarm wouldn’t really work for me, though. I always sleep on my side or on my stomach. I’ve been told that I snore either way.

It was kind of nice to see the decibel level of what I snore at. My peak was apparently between 73 and 76, which seems to be between TV and teakettle whistling. I’m not sure what the symbol next to my average of 62 seems to be, but I take comfort that I’m not at power tool or motorcycle level. My husband says my snoring doesn’t bother him, so…

It does tell you how often you move at night. There’s also the option of a smart alarm that wakes you up when it senses you have had the right amount of sleep. I didn’t try that part out yet, but it could be nice for people. Too much sleep could cause you to be more tired.

Purchasing a ZEEQ

While we got ours for free in exchange for our review, this pillow can run as high as $149. In it’s new stages, it was originally $200. Currently, Rem-fit is selling this pillow at $99 on their website. If you are in the market to tracking your sleep and resting comfortably on this pillow, we would suggest you check it out for yourself.
